Cooper Rush QB | BAL
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Active as No. 2 quarterback
Rush is active Sunday against the Jets, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Rush will operate as the Cowboys' backup quarterback Sunday, as he remains ahead of Trey Lance on the team's depth chart. The veteran signal caller saw action at the end of the Cowboys' blowout victory over the Giants in Week 1, playing just seven snaps and attempting one pass. Rush would be the next man up if necessary behind Dak Prescott in Week 2.

Trey Lance QB | LAC
Cowboys' Trey Lance: Inactive, but available as third QB
Lance (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, but he'll suit up and serve as the Cowboys' emergency third quarterback, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
As he was Week 1 at the Giants, Lance will be on hand in the event both Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush need to be removed from Week 2 action. Such a fate may be Lance's reality moving forward as he continues to grow accustomed to the Cowboys offense.

Brandon Allen QB | NYG
49ers' Brandon Allen: Remains inactive Sunday
Allen (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Rams.
The journeyman signal-caller will be relegated to the No. 3 quarterback role for the second time to open the season, as expected. Sam Darnold will continue to serve as Brock Purdy's primary backup against Los Angeles.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Won't return Sunday
Richardson (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game against the Texans.
Richardson thus finishes up Week 2 having completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 56 yards, with three carries for 35 yards including a pair of rushing TDs. Richardson -- who was replaced by Gardner Minshew -- will now look to gain clearance to play again in advance of next Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Colts' Anthony Richardson: Evaluated for concussion Sunday
Richardson is being evaluated for a possible concussion during Sunday's game against the Texans, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Prior to being forced out of the contest, Richardson completed six of his 10 passes for 56 yards and ran three times for 35 yards with a pair of rushing TDs. In his absence, Gardner Minshew is in at QB for the Colts.

Brian Hoyer QB | LV
Raiders' Brian Hoyer: Will serve as No. 2 QB
Hoyer will serve as the Raiders' backup quarterback over Aidan O'Connell ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills.
The 16-year veteran seems to have won the second-string quarterback competition, as O'Connell is inactive for the second week in a row. Hoyer most recently started a game for the Patriots in 2022.
-
Case Keenum QB | CHI
Texans' Case Keenum: Won't be active
Keenum (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Colts.
Keenum won't be considered part of the active roster for Sunday, with Davis Mills entrenched as the No. 2 option behind starter C.J. Stroud. However, Keenum will likely still be dressed as the team's emergency option at quarterback.
-
Logan Woodside QB | ARI
Falcons' Logan Woodside: No. 3 QB again
Woodside (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Packers, but he'll dress and serve as the Falcons' emergency quarterback, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
For a second straight week, Woodside will serve as the No. 3 quarterback, meaning he doesn't count against the 53-man roster but will be available if Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke are forced out of the game. Woodside appeared in one game for Atlanta last year but played just four offensive snaps and didn't attempt a pass.
-
Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN
Colts' Sam Ehlinger: Serving as emergency QB
Ehlinger (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Texans, but he'll dress and serve as the Colts' emergency quarterback.
Ehlinger doesn't count against the 53-man roster but will be available if Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew are forced out of the game. Ehlinger appeared in four games for Indianapolis last year and completed 63 percent of his passes for 573 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Cleared to start Sunday
Stroud (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Added to the injury report Friday after he was a limited participant in the Texans' final Week 2 practice session due to soreness in his (right) throwing shoulder, Stroud took a questionable tag into the weekend. As anticipated, Stroud was able to warm up earlier Sunday without any major restrictions, so he'll get the green light to make his second career start. The rookie signal-caller will be working behind a depleted offensive line, however, as left tackle Laremy Tunsil (knee) is inactive, while right tackle Tytus Howard (hand), left guard Kenyon Green (shoulder) and center Juice Scruggs (hamstring) all remain on injured reserve.
