  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

    Broncos' Russell Wilson: Out Sunday

Wilson (hamstring) will not play in the Broncos' Week 7 matchup with the Jets, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Denver will opt to err on the side of caution with Wilson and allow him time to heal and prevent a lingering injury. As a result, Brett Rypien will ge the start against the Jets. Wilson's next chance to suit up will come in Week 8 versus the Jaguars.

  • Mac Jones QB | SF

Patriots' Mac Jones: Another limited practice

Jones (ankle) remained limited at practice Friday.

Following back-to-back limited practices, Jones appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Monday night's game against the Bears, though it seems likely the QB will approach the contest with an official questionable designation. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, when asked if he'd be back this week after missing three games, Jones replied, "I think I'm doing well. Just trying to get better and get my treatment. Day by day." In the event that Jones doesn't return Monday, fellow signal-caller Bailey Zappe would be in line to face Chicago.

  • Dolphins' Skylar Thompson: Questionable against Steelers

Thompson (thumb) is questionable for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Thompson sustained a right thumb injury during last week's loss to the Vikings and was limited in practice all week. Even if he's available against the Steelers, the rookie seventh-rounder is unlikely to see the field since both Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater will be active.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Game-time call Sunday

Wilson (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, and coach Nathaniel Hackett said Friday that the quarterback's status could come down to a game-time decision, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

If Wilson ultimately is unable to play, Brett Rypien would step in under center against a Jets team that comes in riding a three-game winning streak. Wilson participated in some capacity in all three of Denver's practices during the week, so he has a chance to suit up despite injuring his hamstring Monday against the Chargers.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Spotted at practice Friday

Wilson (hamstring) is practicing Friday, Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports reports.

Friday's injury report will detail the extent of Wilson's participation and his injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jets. He was limited both Wednesday and Thursday, but Wilson's ability to take the practice field all three days this week is an encouraging sign for his upcoming availability.

  • Panthers' Baker Mayfield: Won't play this week

Mayfield (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, with coach Steve Wilks saying Friday that the quarterback won't be active, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Mayfield will miss a second game, and possibly more, despite returning to a limited practice Friday and being listed as 'doubtful' rather than 'out' on the final injury report. There's also some question whether he or Sam Darnold (ankle) will be the starter if/when both are healthy, while the Week 7 nod goes to PJ Walker.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: All systems go for Sunday

Prescott is ready for Sunday's game against Detroit, with Cowboys president Jerry Jones noting Friday that the quarterback "looked the part" during practice this week, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Prescott has been a full practice participant all week and is cleared to make his return against a Lions defense that ranks dead last in both points and yards allowed per game. The veteran QB takes over a relatively healthy Dallas offense, with LT Tyron Smith (knee, IR) the only starter sidelined now that Prescott is back. Prescott missed the past five games with a fractured right thumb.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Clears protocol, set to start Sunday

Pickett has cleared the league's concussion protocol Friday and is on track to suit up Sunday versus the Dolphins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Pickett is in line to start over Mitch Trubisky versus Miami on Sunday Night Football, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. The rookie first-round pick has managed to practice in full all week, a trend which stands to continue Friday and bodes well for him being at full speed this weekend. Pickett also will have top tight end Pat Freiermuth back from the concussion protocol for Week 7.

  • Andy Dalton QB | PHI

Saints' Andy Dalton: Big night marred by pick-sixes

Dalton completed 30 of 47 attempts for 361 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions in the Saints' 42-34 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday night. He also rushed four times for 21 yards.

Dalton's night was the epitome of a mixed bag, as he offset his highest passing yardage total since Week 16 of the 2020 season with three back-breaking interceptions, the first at the Cardinals' nine-yard line followed by a pair of pick-sixes on back-to-back possessions late in the second quarter that changed the dynamic of the game for good. To his credit, Dalton kept battling with a short-handed pass-catching corps down Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) and helped get New Orleans within eight points via a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Juwan Johnson before the rally fell short. Despite the gaudy numbers, it's likely Jameis Winston (back/ankle), who's been healthy enough to serve as the No. 2 quarterback the last two games, returns to starting duty for a Week 8 home matchup against the Raiders a week from Sunday.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Efficient in Week 7 win

Murray completed 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Cardinals' 42-34 win over the Saints on Thursday night. He also rushed seven times for 30 yards, threw a two-point conversion pass and committed a fumble that he recovered.

While the Cardinals exploded for 42 points, the defense provided a major lift with a pair of pick-sixes. Murray also had a very public heated exchange with head coach Kliff Kingsbury on the sideline during the first half, but he went on to display immediate chemistry with the returning DeAndre Hopkins, who was making his season debut after completing a six-game suspension. Murray connected with Hopkins on 10 occasions for 103 yards, and he hit Greg Dortch for a five-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter for his one scoring toss, which was preceded by a two-point conversion pass to Zach Ertz following the second of the Cardinals' back-to-back pick-sixes late in the first half. Murray also targeted newcomer Robbie Anderson once, and the entire offense should have a chance to be much more cohesive with the extra time afforded ahead of a Week 8 road matchup against the Vikings on Sunday, Oct. 30.
