Stevenson (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Eagles.

An illness caused Stevenson to miss practice Friday, but as expected he'll give it a go Sunday and as long as he's sufficiently past the issue, the 2021 fourth-rounder appears poised to lead New England's backfield, with newcomer Ezekiel Elliott on hand to provide support and potentially absorb some of the team's short-yardage duty. Also in the depth mix as a change-of-pace option is the versatile Ty Montgomery, who rejoined the team's 53-man roster Saturday.

Achane (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Chargers.

Reports emerged earlier Sunday that Achane was headed for healthy scratch status, and that is now official. Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed figure to handle the bulk, if not all, of the Dolphins' rushing work against the Chargers with Achane inactive. Meanwhile, the rookie third-round pick, who'd seemingly shed a preseason shoulder injury when he put in three full practices during Week 1 prep, will turn his attention to potentially making his NFL debut Week 2 on the road against the division-rival Patriots.

With Penny the odd man out, at least in Week 1, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports expects D'Andre Swift to head the team's backfield Sunday, with Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott also mixing in. For now, Penny is off the fantasy lineup radar, but he's a candidate to factor in as the season progresses, especially once injuries hit Philadelphia's RB corps.

Dobbins was forced out of Sunday's game against the Texans with an ankle injury, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Per Hensley, Dobbins wasn't able to put any pressure on the affected leg as he headed into the Ravens' locker room. In his absence, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are next up for the team's carries.

The Eagles were always expected to have a backfield committee after moving on from Miles Sanders while adding Swift and Penny this offseason. That likely won't change in Week 1, although Penny's imminent inactive status is somewhat surprising. While Swift will presumably start and operate as a lead back, Gainwell and Scott should be mixed in often given their familiarity with Philadelphia's system. Gainwell, a 2021 fifth-round pick, has showcased a solid dual-threat skill set during his first two years in the league, but his role has always been limited.

Williams and Chris Evans are slated to work behind Joe Mixon in Sunday's season opener against the Browns, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Rookie fifth-rounder Chase Brown is a candidate to join the team's backfield mix as the season rolls along, but he's inactive for Week 1. As a result, Williams and Evans are in line to handle complementary touches behind Mixon, with Williams a candidate to serve as an early-down backup and third-down work up for grabs.

The Eagles are expected to make Penny a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Philadelphia will release its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET, at which point Penny's status will be confirmed one way or another. If Penny ends up sitting out Week 1 as expected, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott would likely take on elevated roles behind presumptive starter D'Andre Swift.

Hasty (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Hasty served as Jacksonville's No. 2 running back for most of the 2022 campaign and totaled 320 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on 66 touches, but he's No. 4 on the depth chart to begin 2023. Rookie third-round pick Tank Bigsby and free-agent signing D'Ernest Johnson will serve as the secondary and tertiary options, respectively, to starting tailback Travis Etienne in the season opener at Indianapolis.

Davis-Price (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Steelers.

Davis was able to secure a spot on the 53-man roster, but he still remains behind Jordan Mason for the No. 3 role at running back. The 23-year-old will now work to earn a chance to suit up next Sunday against the Rams.
