  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Cowboys' Miles Sanders: Sitting out in Week 5

Sanders (knee/ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game at the Jets, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Sanders wasn't able to practice during Week 5 prep due to knee and ankle injuries, but a questionable designation left the door open for him to be available to the Cowboys offense Sunday. The proceeding didn't come to pass, though, so Dallas will roll with rookie fifth-round pick Jaydon Blue and fullback Hunter Luepke as the backfield options behind starter Javonte Williams. Sanders' next chance to suit up is Sunday, Oct. 12 in Carolina.

  • Bucky Irving RB | TB

Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Likely to remain out through Week 6

Irving (foot/shoulder), who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, is likely to remain sidelined for the Buccaneers' Week 6 contest versus the 49ers on Oct. 12, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

In the aftermath of the Buccaneers' Week 4 loss to the Eagles, Irving was diagnosed with a left foot sprain, which confined him to a walking boot and kept him from practicing Wednesday through Friday before Tampa Bay confirmed he wouldn't play this weekend. In addition, Irving was listed on the Buccaneers' official injury report with a shoulder issue, which Schefter relays is a subluxation that is considered the worse of the running back's two health concerns. The Buccaneers will likely wait and see what, if any, practice activity Irving is able to take part in during the upcoming week before deciding on his status for the matchup with the 49ers, but fantasy managers should brace for a two-game absence for the second-year tailback. While Irving is out, Rachaad White is expected to see the majority of the carries out of the Tampa Bay backfield in addition to serving as the team's top pass-catching back, though reserves Sean Tucker and Josh Williams are also expected to see expanded profiles in the ground attack.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Likely to lead ground attack

White is expected to receive the "vast majority" of carries in Sunday's game against the Seahawks while starter Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) is sidelined for the contest, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Through the first four weeks of the season, White has filled a change-of-pace role behind Irving, but the former should have the opportunity to see his largest workload to date while the Buccaneers are without their top running back. Though Pelissero notes that the Buccaneers also have a plan to keep Sean Tucker involved in the ground attack and expect undrafted rookie Josh Williams to get some opportunities out of the backfield as well, White looks to be the most appealing fantasy option of Tampa Bay's three healthy running backs. In addition to being expected to lead the way in carries, White should also dominate the work on passing downs.

  • Tyjae Spears RB | TEN

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Trending toward playing vs. Cards

Spears (ankle) is expected to play against the Cardinals on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Spears started the season on injured reserve due to a high right-ankle sprain that he suffered in early August. He was activated from IR on Saturday after being limited in practice all week, and the 2023 third-rounder is expected to make his 2025 debut in Arizona. Spears' official status may not be known until the Titans announce their list of inactive players about 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but if he does suit up he'll serve as the team's top backup out of the backfield behind Tony Pollard while Julius Chestnut serves as the RB3. Spears finished the 2024 regular season with 84 carries for 312 yards and four touchdowns and 30 catches (on 35 targets) for 224 yards and a score across 12 games.

  • Avery Williams RB | NYJ

Jets' Avery Williams: Elevated from practice squad

The Jets elevated Williams from the practice squad Saturday.

Williams will give the Jets another option on kickoff and punt returns after Isaiah Williams lost a fumble in the role last Monday night and was subsequently cut Saturday.

  • Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ

Jets' Kene Nwangwu: Downgraded to out for Week 5

Nwangwu (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Nwangwu hasn't played since Week 1 and didn't practice this week, so it always seemed unlikely that he would face Dallas. Isaiah Davis figures to continue to fill in as an option on kickoff returns.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Vikings' Cam Akers: Elevated to active roster

The Vikings elevated Akers from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Browns.

Akers will serve as the team's No. 3 running back for the third straight week behind Jordan Mason and Zavier Scott, with Aaron Jones (hamstring) still on injured reserve. This is the final time Minnesota will be able to elevate Akers, and going forward the team will have to sign him to the active roster in order for him to appear in another game.

  • Kimani Vidal RB | LAC

Chargers' Kimani Vidal: Elevated to active roster

The Chargers elevated Vidal from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Commanders.

Vidal is expected to serve as Los Angeles' No. 3 running back behind Omarion Hampton and Hassan Haskins for the second straight week. Vidal didn't see any touches on offense in the Week 4 loss versus the Giants but did return one kickoff for 25 yards and will likely have a similar role against Washington. The Chargers will be eligible to elevate him just one more time this season before needing to sign him to the active roster.

  • Bhayshul Tuten RB | JAC

Jaguars' Bhayshul Tuten: Ready for Week 5

Tuten (shoulder) was limited at practice Saturday but doesn't have a designation for Monday's game versus the Chiefs.

Tuten has had his practice reps managed in each of the last three weeks of game prep, but he's still been available to the Jaguars offense on game days. While Travis Etienne has been a workhorse out of the backfield this season, Tuten has received regular touches, turning 21 carries into 88 yards and one touchdown and three catches (on four targets) for 40 yards and another score through four contests.

  • Tyjae Spears RB | TEN

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Off IR, still questionable

The Titans activated Spears (ankle) from injured reserve Saturday, but he remains questionable for Sunday's game at Arizona, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Spears' 2025 debut was delayed due to a high right-ankle sprain that he suffered in Tennessee's preseason opener, resulting in him spending the first four games of the campaign on injured reserve. After his practice window opened earlier this week, he proceeded to be limited on all three Week 5 injury reports, which was enough for him to have a chance to return to action Sunday. Spears' status will be confirmed about 90 minutes before a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.
