  • Will Shipley RB | PHI

    Eagles' Will Shipley: Not practicing

Shipley (ribs) isn't practicing Wednesday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Shipley took three carries for 26 yards in the first half of last Thursday's win over Dallas, but he was injured on a kickoff late in the second quarter and didn't play after halftime. The Eagles then traded for RB Tank Bigsby on Monday, giving up fifth- and sixth-round picks in 2026, which is seemingly enough compensation to put Shipley on the hot seat even if he returns from his injury soon (which is far from guaranteed). AJ Dillon filled in as the No. 2 RB after halftime last Thursday, taking three carries for 10 yards while occasionally spelling Saquon Barkley, who finished the night with a 79 percent snap share and 22 touches.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Commanders' Austin Ekeler: Ready for Thursday's game

Ekeler (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation for Thursday's contest against the Packers.

Ekeler was listed as a limited practice participant on all three of Washington's injury reports Week 2, but it appears the veteran running back has simply been having his reps managed with a short week of rest before Thursday Night Football. He rushed six times for 26 yards and caught all three of his targets for 31 yards during the Commanders' 21-6 win over the Giants in Week 1 and looks primed to again contribute primarily on passing downs versus Green Bay, while rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and quarterback Jayden Daniels are set to headline Washington's rushing attack.

  • Browns' Quinshon Judkins: Won't practice Wednesday

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski noted that Judkins, who is not at the Browns' facility and won't practice Wednesday, is expected back with the team Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer previously reported that Judkins is in line to be interviewed by the NFL this week regarding his domestic battery charge under its personal conduct policy. According to Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, that meeting is taking place Wednesday. Stefanski didn't comment on that topic Wednesday, noting that the Browns are taking it day-by-day with Judkins, with the team having been granted a two-game roster exemption for the running back after he didn't sign his rookie deal with the team until this past Saturday.

  • Ty Johnson RB | BUF

Bills' Ty Johnson: Handles two carries in opener

Johnson rushed twice for 24 yards and failed to secure either of his two targets in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.

Johnson's minimal production came on a day in which he handled 28 of the Bills' 85 offensive snaps, the second-most snaps at running back behind starter James Cook (48) and ahead of Ray Davis (10). The 27-year-old could have some good days on the stat sheet as a rotational player on one of the league's best offenses, but his limited usage will make those performances both inconsistent and hard to predict. Barring injury, Cook is the fantasy star in Buffalo's backfield, with both Johnson and Davis holding value as insurance policies. Johnson and the Bills are set to square off against the Jets in Week 2.

  • Ray Davis RB | BUF

Bills' Ray Davis: Limited role in season opener

Davis rushed once for two yards and reeled in his lone target for minus-one yard in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.

Davis played just 10 of the Bills' 85 offensive snaps Sunday, behind starter James Cook (48) and Ty Johnson (28). With so many playmakers in Buffalo, the second-year running back should continue to struggle to earn meaningful touches out of the backfield barring an injury to Cook. With that said, Davis remains a high-value insurance policy for fantasy purposes. The 25-year-old will have his next opportunity to get involved when the Bills visit the Jets in Week 2.

  • Commanders' Jeremy McNichols: Handles four carries in win

McNichols rushed four times for 25 yards in Sunday's 21-6 win over the Giants.

McNichols played 13 of the Commanders' 70 offensive snaps in the contest, operated as the No. 3 running back behind Austin Ekeler (33) and Jacory Croskey-Merritt (23). With limited opportunities, McNichols will continue to struggle to record meaningful stats for fantasy going forward, barring injuries to Ekeler, Croskey-Merritt or Chris Rodriguez, who was a healthy scratch in Week 1. The Commanders are set to square off against the Packers in Week 2.

  • Tahj Brooks RB | CIN

Bengals' Tahj Brooks: Limited to special teams in debut

Brooks did not play a single offensive snap in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns.

Brooks was a complete nonfactor in the Bengals' season opener, failing to earn a single touch in the contest. Instead, the rookie running back was used solely on special teams, playing a total of 12 snaps with the unit. With Chase Brown taking the majority of snaps on offense and Samaje Perine operating as the team's No. 2 option, Brooks faces an uphill battle for playing time barring injuries. The Texas Tech product's next opportunity to get involved will come when the Bengals host the Jaguars in Week 2.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Targeted twice in Week 1

Perine caught both of his targets for six yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns.

Operating as the No. 2 running back behind Chase Brown, Perine failed to record a single carry in the contest. The 29-year-old was a distant afterthought in the Bengals' offensive plans, playing just 13 of Cincinnati's 52 offensive snaps, while Brown was on the field for 39 snaps and handled 24 total touches. Barring an injury to Brown, Perine will likely hold very little fantasy value going forward, keeping him off the fantasy radar as anything more than an insurance policy. Next up for the veteran is a Week 2 matchup against the Jaguars.

  • Ty Chandler RB | MIN

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Limited to special teams

Chandler averaged 28.0 yards on three kickoff returns in Monday's win at Chicago. He did not play a snap on offense.

Chander begins the season as the No. 3 RB over Zavier Scott, who was inactive while dealing with an ankle injury. Neither back will likely see much usage of offense while both Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy.

  • Nyheim Hines: Gets cut from practice squad

The Chargers cut Hines from their practice squad Tuesday.

In a corresponding transaction, the Chargers signed linebacker Kana'i Mauga to their practice squad. Hines' last regular-season action came in 2022, when he turned 54 touches into 274 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns over 16 games with the Bills and the Colts.
