  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Limited opportunities in Week 16

Reynolds rushed the ball four times for 18 yards and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Bears.

Reynolds was expected to take a step up and operate as Detroit's No. 2 running back behind Jahmyr Gibbs in Week 16, but it didn't lead to a heavy workload. Over 15 games in 2024, Reynolds has now turned 16 carries into 69 yards, while the reception Sunday was his first of the year. He'll look to be more involved in the Lions' next contest against the 49ers on Monday Night Football on Dec. 30.

  • Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Gets three carries, seven catches

White rushed three times for 10 yards and caught seven of eight targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Cowboys. He also lost a fumble.

White played second fiddle to Bucky Irving, who turned 19 touches into 92 total yards and a touchdown. The third-year pro posted his lowest rushing yardage total of the season but finished with his third-highest receiving yardage total of the campaign. White was held without a touchdown for only the second time in his last nine games, and his fumble at the end of a six-yard catch with 1:40 remaining secured the loss for Tampa Bay. He'll try to get back on track as a rusher in Week 17 against the generous Panthers run defense.

  • Bucky Irving RB | TB

Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Leads backfield in defeat

Irving rushed 16 times for 68 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Cowboys.

Irving got the Buccaneers on the board with a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He had a substantial edge in usage and production over Rachaad White, who had just 10 touches for 61 yards and lost a fumble. While both running backs usually play prominent roles, Irving has emerged as the superior all-around backfield option for the Buccaneers. The standout rookie has 1,240 scrimmage yards and seven rushing touchdowns heading into a Week 17 home game against the Panthers.

  • 49ers' Patrick Taylor: Struggles in first start with SF

Taylor ran the ball eight times for 24 yards while catching just one of five targets for one yard in Sunday's 29-17 loss to Miami.

Taylor was unable to replicate the "next man up" trend of success from being the 49ers' starting running back. The 26-year-old struggled to get much going on the ground, leading to quarterback Brock Purdy (26 rushing yards) finishing as the team's leading rusher. Taylor was filling in for rookie Isaac Guerendo (hamstring), whose status for Week 17 is still uncertain. The latter would be the preferred fantasy option against the Lions on Monday if healthy, but Taylor would retain deep-league value if asked to start again for San Francisco.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Increased role may await

Charbonnet lost one yard on his only carry while corralling both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Minnesota.

Charbonnet was expected to remain a "big part" of Seattle's game plan despite the return of starting tailback Kenneth Walker (ankle). While the lie detector test proved the team's report to be false, Walker suffered an ankle injury late in the narrow loss, which could afford Charbonnet the opportunity to start in Week 17 and beyond. We will have to wait for the MRI results on the starter's ankle early in the practice week, but fantasy managers who felt scorned by Charbonnet in Week 16 should absolutely hang onto the talented backup ahead of Thursday's tilt against Chicago.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Vikings' Aaron Jones: Nets 93 yards Sunday

Jones took 18 carries for 67 yards while catching three of five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks.

Jones had to work for his 93 combined yards from scrimmage Sunday, handling 23 total touches en route to modest fantasy numbers. The steady veteran failed to extend his scoring streak to five games, which is the only blemish on an otherwise quality outing. The 29-year-old is now up to 1,046 rushing yards through 15 starts as a Viking, giving him his fourth 1,000-yard season as a pro. Jones will get an opportunity to have a revenge game against the club that let him walk in free agency this past offseason, the Green Bay Packers, next Sunday.

  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Another excellent performance

Cook rushed the ball 11 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots. He added three receptions on three targets for 26 yards and an additional touchdown.

Cook turned the game around for Buffalo by scoring consecutive touchdowns in the second and third quarters. The first came on an explosive 46-yard scamper through the middle of the New England defense while he broke through several arm tackles. He then caught a short, four-yard touchdown to tie the game. Despite being limited to around 15 touches per matchup, Cook has eclipsed 100 yards from scrimmage in three of four contests while finding the end zone a total of five times since Buffalo's Week 12 bye.

  • Panthers' Raheem Blackshear: Gets three carries Sunday

Blackshear took three carries for 13 yards in Sunday's 36-30 overtime win over the Cardinals.

The 26-year-old entered Sunday's contest without a rushing attempt this season, but with Miles Sanders (ankle) and Jonathon Brooks (knee) both sidelined, Blackshear stepped in and served as Carolina's No. 2 running back, playing behind Chuba Hubbard. Blackshear made the most of his three carries, averaging 4.33 yards per attempt. His performance in Week 16 likely solidified his role as the Panthers' top backup running back for the remainder of the season. He will next take the field in the Week 17 matchup against the Buccaneers.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Chiefs' Samaje Perine: Three catches in Week 16

Perine didn't log a carry while catching all three of his targets for 50 yards in Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans.

Perine made his biggest impact in the passing game, as usual, producing a season-high 50 receiving yards in the win. The running back played just 13 offensive snaps, his lowest total since Week 10, as both Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are healthy and garnering touches out of the backfield. Perine has turned 17 carries into 82 yards and a touchdown while adding 25 receptions for 289 yards and a score over 15 games in 2024.

  • Bears' Roschon Johnson: One rushing attempt in loss

Johnson had a three-yard carry in the Bears' 34-17 loss to the Lions on Sunday.

After missing the last two games due to a concussion, Johnson touched the ball once as the backup to D'Andre Swift. Since Chicago's Week 8 bye, Johnson has posted 21 or fewer scrimmage yards in six of seven games. However, the veteran has found the end zone three times in the last seven games, making him a touchdown-or-bust option in the fantasy playoffs.
