Deshaun Fenwick RB | GB
Deshaun Fenwick: Won't make 53-man roster
The Patriots waived Fenwick on Monday.
Fenwick was let go and brought back by the Patriots earlier in August after agreeing to join the team as an undrafted free agent in April. The Oregon State product appeared in 13 games during his final collegiate season, tallying 591 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns on 105 total touches.

Xazavian Valladay RB | MIN
Xazavian Valladay: Won't make 53-man roster
The Jets waived Valladay on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Valladay spent his entire 2023 campaign with the Jets, appearing in one game and failing to record a stat on just 12 total snaps. The Arizona State product racked up over 2,200 rushing yards during his final two collegiate seasons, so he has a chance at finding a spot on to another team's practice squad heading into 2024.

Ke'Shawn Vaughn RB | SF
Ke'Shawn Vaughn: Misses San Fran's roster
The 49ers released Vaughn on Monday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The 27-year-old running back was picked up by San Francisco earlier in August in order to add depth to the team's depleted running back room. Now that Elijah Mitchell and Isaac Guerendo have returned to full health, Vaughn has been dropped.

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Staying sidelined
Foreman (ribs) will not practice Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Foreman suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks. The severity of the injury and how long the Texas product may be out is still unknown, but he is one of multiple Browns running backs dealing with injuries, which will likely have an impact on Cleveland's final 53-man roster.

Rasheen Ali RB | BAL
Ravens' Rasheen Ali: Iffy for Week 1
Coach John Harbaugh noted Monday that Ali is in concussion protocol, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Per Harbaugh, the status of Ali -- who suffered a reported stinger in the Ravens' preseason opener -- is iffy for the team's regular-season opener, Thursday, Sept. 5 against the Chiefs. With fellow RB Owen Wright having suffered a broken foot Saturday, the Ravens' backfield depth behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill is currently taxed. As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see Baltimore address the situation before, during or after initial roster cut downs.

Mohamed Ibrahim RB | MIN
Mohamed Ibrahim: Headed for free agency
Ibrahim was waived by the Vikings on Monday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Ibrahim signed with Minnesota on Thursday after he received medical clearance from a hip injury he suffered while with the Lions last season. He'll now have to find a new opportunity after just four days with the team.

Jaylen Warren RB | PIT
Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Expects to be ready for Week 1
Warren (hamstring) said Monday he expects to be ready for Pittsburgh's regular-season opener against the Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 8, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Warren was limited to light work during the portion of Monday's practice open to the media, per Batko, but he still has nearly two weeks to get fully healthy for Week 1. The third-year pro suffered a hamstring injury during the Steelers' second preseason game, but there doesn't appear to be tangible concern about his regular-season availability. When Warren is back to full health, he seems positioned to operate as a co-starter out of the backfield alongside Najee Harris, as was the case during the 2023 season. Cordarrelle Patterson figures to be the primary beneficiary behind Harris if Warren's injury does linger.

Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET
Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Returns to practice
Gibbs (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Gibbs made it back on the day Dan Campbell had predicted, but the coach didn't provide any details about the extent of his running back's participation. Gibbs missed two weeks of practice with a hamstring strain and now has less than two weeks to get ready for Detroit's season opener against the Rams on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Rhamondre Stevenson RB | NE
Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Rested in preseason finale
Stevenson was among the Patriots' key starters who got the night off in the team's preseason finale against the Commanders on Sunday, Mike Dussault of the team's official site reports.
As the coming season approaches, the fourth-year pro's role as New England's lead back is secure, so Sunday's contest was an opportunity for the coaching staff to get a look at Kevin Harris, JaMycal Hasty, Terrell Jennings and Deshaun Fenwick, who are competing for slotting behind Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Stevenson's next game reps will occur Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Bengals, at which time we'd expect him to have a prominent role in the Week 1 game plan, regardless of which QB ( Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye) gets the starting nod.

Jonathon Brooks RB | CAR
Panthers' Jonathon Brooks: No decision on PUP yet
Coach Dave Canales suggested Monday morning that the Panthers haven't decided if Brooks (knee) will start the regular season on the reseve/PUP list, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
The uncertainty suggests Brooks is unlikely to play Week 1 but could be ready before Week 5, as the reserve/PUP list would rule him out for the first four games. Canales said in early August that he expected the rookie to debut around Week 3 or 4, and it now sounds like the Panthers may take the decision down to the last day with the roster cutdown to 53 players looming Tuesday afternoon. Either way, Chuba Hubbard figures to be the starting RB for Week 1 at New Orleans.
