  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Melvin Gordon: Set to join Baltimore roster

Head coach John Harbaugh said after Sunday's win over the Jaguars that Gordon will be added to the Ravens' 53-man roster this week, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

After Keaton Mitchell was believed to have sustained a season-ending knee injury during Sunday's win, the Ravens need additional backfield depth. Gordon appeared in two games for the Ravens earlier this season and rushed 13 times for 53 yards while securing all three of his targets for 46 yards. While Baltimore still has Gus Edwards and Justice Hill available out of the backfield, Gordon could have a chance to carve out a role down the stretch.

  • Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Struggles in tough matchup

Etienne took 10 carries for 31 yards and caught four of six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens.

Etienne was cleared of the rib injury designation that had plagued him in recent weeks, but the improved health did not result in improved results on the field. The 24-year-old finished with a per-carry average below four yards for the eighth time over his last nine games. He has helped offset those shortcomings as a rusher by averaging 3.3 receptions and 29.7 receiving yards over that same timeframe. Etienne still maintains a stranglehold on the starting job in Jacksonville heading into next Sunday's tilt against the Buccaneers.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Expected to miss rest of season

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said after Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jaguars that Mitchell suffered a serious left knee injury and will likely miss the remainder of the season, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.

Mitchell went down in the fourth quarter and was carted to the locker room. The elusive runner had 73 rushing yards on just nine carries prior to getting hurt Sunday, and Mitchell will likely finish his rookie season with an average of 8.4 yards per carry (396 yards on 47 attempts). An official move placing Mitchell on injured reserve could be coming shortly if Harbaugh's pessimistic prognostication is confirmed.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Gets 11th TD as Mitchell goes down

Edwards rushed 16 times for 58 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jaguars.

Edwards came just short of scoring his 11th touchdown of the season on a second-quarter carry by the goal line. He was brought down just outside the end zone, and a post-play personal foul moved Baltimore's offensive back 15 yards, setting the stage for a 16-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson to Isaiah Likely on the next play. Edwards made no mistake with his next goal-line opportunity in the fourth quarter, powering in a one-yard touchdown run to extend Baltimore's lead to 17-7. After scoring nine touchdowns in a five-game span, Edwards rushed just 14 times for 41 yards without a touchdown over the next two games, but he bounced back while handling his heaviest workload since Week 8. Edwards could continue to see elevated usage against the 49ers in Week 16, as fellow running back Keaton Mitchell (knee) exited in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win with what looked like a serious injury.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Leads ground attack in loss

Allgeier rushed 14 times for 45 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Falcons' 9-7 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

Allgeier doubled up rookie backfield mate Bijan Robinson in carries on the afternoon with a tally that was also Allgeier's highest since Week 7. The 2022 fifth-round pick continues to enjoy a solid role even on weeks when Robinson is much more involved -- Allgeier hasn't seen fewer than eight carries since Week 4 -- but the division of labor in Atlanta's backfield remains difficult to trust heading into a Week 16 home matchup against the Colts.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Cardinals' James Conner: Stays hot with another TD

Conner rushed 14 times for 86 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for three yards in Sunday's 45-29 loss to San Francisco.

Conner followed up his best fantasy performance of the season against his old club last week with another strong outing in Week 15. It was especially impressive considering that the 49ers boast the third-stingiest run defense in the league. Conner has contributed 191 rushing yards and three touchdowns over his last two games afterproviding modest results in the three games prior following his return from IR. The bruising back is gaining momentum at a crucial point of the fantasy schedule, making him a hot commodity heading into next Sunday's tilt against Chicago.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Promptly ruled out due to knee

Mitchell (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Mitchell was ruled out shortly after being carted to the locker room in the fourth quarter. Based on the initial reaction to his injury, Mitchell could be looking at a multi-week absence, though the severity of his injury will likely be clarified soon. If Mitchell doesn't play in Week 16 against the 49ers, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill would be in line to lead Baltimore's backfield.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Carted off in Jacksonville

Mitchell was carted to the locker room shortly after being carried into the blue medical tent by staffers in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports.

Mitchell went down grabbing his leg near the knee at the conclusion of a 13-yard run in the fourth quarter. He had nine carries for 73 yards and caught both of his targets for 15 yards prior to the injury. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are the top remaining options in Baltimore's backfield with Mitchell hurt.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Stifled by dominant NO defense

Barkley rushed nine times for 14 yards and caught both of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Saints.

Barkley ran into a brick walls on nearly every one of his season-low nine carries as New Orleans' dominant defense put on one of its best performances to date. Combine the tough matchup with the Giants' lack of offensive threats outside of its star running back, and you have the recipe for what transpired Sunday. Fantasy managers who benefited from Barkley's best fantasy game of the season against the Packers in Week 14 likely had to suffer the superstar's worst output in their following playoff matchup. Things don't get any easier for the Giants and Barkley in Week 16 when they draw another tough defense in Philadelphia for a holiday edition of Monday Night Football.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Ten touches in loss

Rodriguez rushed the ball 10 times for 35 yards in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Rams.

With Brian Robinson (hamstring) sidelined, Rodriguez paced the Washington backfield in carries. He wasn't particularly efficient with the opportunity, as his longest gain went for just 11 yards and he was held under four yards on six of his 10 attempts. If Robinson remains sidelined for a Week 16 matchup against the Jets, it appears that Rodriguez will be the team's primary back on early downs, while Antonio Gibson will see most of the pass-catching opportunities out of the backfield.
