  • Mike Gesicki TE | CIN

Dolphins' Mike Gesicki: Back in end zone Thursday

Gesicki caught one of three targets for a 15-yard touchdown in the Dolphins' 31-13 win over the Jaguars on Thursday.

The third-year tight end was nowhere near as prolific as four days prior against the Bills, but Gesicki still rewarded fantasy managers with his second touchdown grab of the season. The Penn State product may see his reception volume fluctuate depending on game flow, but based on his strong second-half finish in 2019 and early returns this season, it's clear Gesicki's fantasy prospects are on the right trajectory. He'll look to play a bigger role in a Week 4 home matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 4.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Seahawks' Will Dissly: Limited again Thursday

Dissly (Achilles) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Dissly, who had previously been fully cleared ahead of Week 1, has now logged back-to-back limited practice sessions. The third-year pro suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon last October, so it's possible that the Seahawks are simply being cautious with his practice activity, but it's worrying to see him on the injury report in any capacity. Greg Olsen is already working as Seattle's top tight end, so he would get a slight bump in opportunities if Dissly were forced to handle less snaps or even miss any time.

  • Packers' Josiah Deguara: Sits out Thursday

Deguara (shin/ankle) was a non-participant during Thursday's practice after being limited in Wednesday's session, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Deguara's pattern of practice participation is following a similar trajectory to last week, as he logged a limited session Wednesday before sitting out Thursday and Friday, ultimately receiving an inactive designation for Week 2 against the Lions. The 23-year-old rookie kicked off his NFL career with a 12-yard catch in the season debut against Minnesota, but it appears based on the latest injury report that he is unlikely to play Week 3 against a New Orleans defense that has allowed more tight-end receptions (20) than any other team in the NFL.

  • Hunter Henry TE | NE

    Chargers' Hunter Henry: Practices fully

    Henry (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.

Henry, who was on the field for 86 percent of the Chargers' offensive snaps in Week 2's overtime loss to Kansas City, should remain busy Sunday against the Panthers. The tight end will look to continue to build his chemistry with quarterback Justin Herbert after catching six passes (on eight targets) for 83 yards in the rookie signal-caller's surprise start last weekend.

  • Jonnu Smith TE | PIT

    Titans' Jonnu Smith: Practices fully

Smith (ankle) practiced fully Thursday, John Glennon of The Athletic reports.

Smith didn't practice Wednesday, but the tight end's return to a full session Thursday puts him on track to suit up Sunday against the Vikings. Smith caught four of his five targets for 84 yards and two TDs in Week 2's 33-30 win over the Jaguars and figures to remain busy again this weekend, with top wideout A.J. Brown (knee) still banged up.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Logs another limited practice

Kittle (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Kittle matched his activity from the 49ers' first practice of the week a day earlier, which at least indicates that he isn't dealing with any setbacks in his recovery from an MCL sprain and bone bruise in his left knee. Even so, Kittle was evasive Thursday when asked about his chances of playing Sunday against the Giants, merely telling Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle that he "feels better every single day." The 49ers' final practice report of the week will be released Friday, at which time fantasy managers should gain a better sense of his status heading into the weekend.

  • Darren Waller TE | MIA

Raiders' Darren Waller: Not spotted at Thursday's practice

Waller (knee) wasn't spotted at the start of Thursday's practice, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Waller was also listed as a non-participant Wednesday on the Raiders' estimated practice report, so his status is worth monitoring in advance of Sunday's game against the Patriots. The same scenario also applies to top back Josh Jacobs (hip), and it's possible that the team is simply managing the reps of a pair of key offensive cogs. What each of the duo is able to do Friday will thus be pivotal with regard to their Week 3 statuses.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Absent from practice

Knox (concussion) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Knox remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and hasn't been on the field for either of the Bills' first two practices of Week 3. Unless he's cleared to take some contact at practice Friday, Knox currently looks to be trending toward an absence in Sunday's game against the Rams. Tyler Kroft, who played 51 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 2 win over Miami without drawing a target, would be in line to start at tight end Sunday if Knox is inactive.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Seahawks' Will Dissly: Logs limited practice Wednesday

Dissly (Achilles) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

This is Dissly's first appearance on the injury report since being fully cleared ahead of Week 1. His presence on the report is slightly concerning considering he ruptured his Achilles' tendon Week 6 last season, as the injury could be flaring up despite successful rehab. If Dissly is forced to miss any time, Greg Olsen would get a slight bump as the clear No. 1 tight end, but the Seahawks could opt to use fewer less two-tight end sets. That could create more opportunities for depth wideouts David Moore and Freddie Swain to see extra snaps.

  • Bills' Reggie Gilliam: First pro TD

Gilliam caught his only target for a one-yard score in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.

When you're an undrafted free agent who found a way to stick with the team and your very first NFL target goes for a touchdown in a tight game, life is good. Gilliam switched from fullback to tight end during training camp, as the Bills have seemingly mostly phased out the FB position of their offense. He's deep down the tight end depth chart, but with blocking guru Lee Smith being a game-day inactive Sunday and starter Dawson Knox trying to get back from a concussion, perhaps another end-zone look could be in store for the rookie from Toledo.
