Paulsen (coach's decision) won't play in Monday's season opener against the Saints, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Listed as the No. 4 option, Paulsen seemingly only provides depth to Houston's tight end unit. With Darren Fells, Jordan Akins and Jerell Adams all healthy and active for Monday, Houston will let Paulsen sit on the sideline.

Smythe played 12 snaps on offense without a target in Sunday's 59-10 loss to the Ravens.

Smythe is working to develop as a blocker and stands to continue splitting depth snaps with Nick O'Leary. Fellow second-year pro Mike Gesicki stands to receive the vast majority of Miami's targets to the tight end position, leaving Smythe with negligible fantasy value for 2019.

Kroft (foot) put in a rigorous pregame workout before being deemed inactive for Sunday's 17-16 road win against the Jets, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Prior to be being listed as doubtful for this contest, Kroft was listed as a limited participant on every Week 1 injury report. With news of Sunday's workout, he seems to be trending ever closer to his first appearance as a Bill, though he may have to work up to his presumed starter's workload.

Daniels was waived by the Cardinals on Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Daniels was promoted from the team's practice squad Saturday but was a healthy inactive for Week 1. The 24-year-old could return to the Cardinals' practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.

Tomlinson was not targeted in Sunday's 35-17 loss to the Giants.

The 27-year-old played only two offensive snaps Sunday and was clearly outpaced by top backup Rhett Ellison (22 snaps). Tomlinson signed with the Giants last week after being cut by the Jets and figures to remain in a reserve role with his new team.

Bell caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars.

Bell logged 33 offensive snaps (49 percent) in the contest, positioning him as the second-string tight end behind Travis Kelce and ahead of Deon Yelder. While it means very little in terms of fantasy at the moment, it could prove fruitful should Kelce miss any time.

Alie-Coxhad one reception for three yards on his lone target in Sunday's loss at the Chargers.

Alie-Cox played just 13 snaps on offense. While Alie-Cox continues to improve as a pass catcher, he's going to have a very limited role in the offense as long as Jack Doyle and Eric Ebron are healthy.

Hurst caught three of four targets for 41 yards Sunday against the Dolphins.

The Ravens leaned on the tight ends Sunday with Hurst and Mark Andrews combining for 11 catches on 12 targets for 149 yards. Hurst actually out-snapped Andrews by a count of 43 to 32, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports, which speaks to Hurst's importance as a blocker. Still, Hurst is clearly behind Andrews in terms of his importance to the Baltimore passing game, which limits his fantasy utility to leagues that start multiple tight ends.

Swaim caught all four of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.

James O'Shaughnessy received the start and served as the Jaguars' top tight end Sunday, catching four of five targets for 32 yards and playing 38 snaps to Swaim's 29. Both players are listed as starters since Jacksonville's depth chart features two tight ends, but O'Shaughnessy was the favorite for playing time and production Week 1. Swaim certainly has more upside between the two, but his season is off to a rocky start.

Smith played 26 snaps on offense Sunday, but was not targeted in the passing game.

The good news is that Smith played on 26 of the offense's 53 snaps. The bad news is he didn't get a target, but it's hard to read too much into a week where the Vikings offense barely needed to pass (10 attempts) due to their success on the ground (172 yards rushing). It looks like the Vikings are going to utilize two-tight end sets, but we may not get a true read on Smith's role until the Vikings are forced to pass the ball.
