  • Travis Kelce TE | KC

Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Gets green light for Sunday

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Kelce (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Jaguars, barring any setbacks leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

After sitting out the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Lions with a bone bruise in his knee, Kelce returned to the practice field as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday. Reid hasn't revealed whether Kelce will upgrade to full activity during the Chiefs' final practice of the week Friday, and while the tight end could still end up taking a questionable tag into Sunday, he's apparently shown enough progress in his recovery from the injury to convince the Kansas City staff he'll be ready to play against Jacksonville. Assuming Kelce does in fact gain clearance for Sunday, he should immediately settle back into a high-volume role in a Kansas City pass-catching corps that didn't have any of its other members notably step up in his absence during the season opener.

  • Darren Waller TE | MIA

Giants' Darren Waller: Looking good for Sunday

Coach Brian Daboll told reporters Friday that Waller (hamstring/rest) "moved around good" during Thursday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Waller was listed as questionable last week and looked perfectly healthy, playing 89 percent of snaps in the first half while accounting for 36 of the Giants' receiving yards before the break. He didn't play much after halftime with the Cowboys up big on the Giants, but the addition of the word 'rest' on the Week 2 injury report suggests he came out of the opener without aggravating his hamstring. Waller is on track to play this Sunday at Arizona and probably won't have to worry about his team getting blown out this week.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Does little on six catches

Goedert brought in six of seven targets for 22 yards in the Eagles' 34-28 win over the Vikings on Thursday night.

On the bright side, Goedert recorded his first six grabs of the season, a tally that also served as a team-high figure. The talented tight end did all his work close to the line of scrimmage, however, and nine of his yards came on one reception. Goedert's meager production thus far appears to largely be circumstantial, as Jalen Hurts has thrown for under 200 yards in each of the first two games. The sixth-year pro will look to make more of an impact in a Week 3 Monday night road matchup against the Buccaneers on Sept. 25.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Scores first two TDs of season

Hockenson brought in seven of eight targets for 66 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings' 34-28 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night.

The talented tight end had already amassed eight catches during the Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, albeit for only 35 yards. Hockenson had one less grab but much more fantasy success four days later, scoring on a pair of five-yard grabs in the second and fourth quarters, respectively. He also posted a 24-yard reception that nearly outpaced his entire season-opening output, and with 15 receptions on 17 targets thus far, he's on pace early for career-best efficiency. Hockenson will aim to keep up the momentum during a Week 3 home matchup against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 24.

  • Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Limited at practice Thursday

Ogletree (concussion) participated in limited fashion at practice Thursday.

Ogletree was placed in concussion protocol after suffering a blow to the head in the first half of Sunday's season opener against Jacksonville. His ability to take the field Thursday is a promising sign, though he was wearing a red non-contact jersey, suggesting it's uncertain he'll be able to play Week 2.

  • Greg Dulcich TE | MIA

Broncos' Greg Dulcich: Logs another DNP

Dulcich (hamstring) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Logging back-to-back DNPs to begin Week 2 prep isn't a surprise for Dulcich, who is expected to miss multiple games due to a hamstring injury. Last season, he was inactive seven times due to a hamstring issue (Weeks 1-5 and 17-18), so his upcoming absence doesn't necessarily have a firm timetable. Assuming the Broncos rule out Dulcich on Friday's practice report, the Broncos will turn to Adam Trautman, Chris Manhertz and potentially undrafted rookie Nate Adkins at tight end.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Sitting Thursday

Okwuegbunam (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Patriots.

Okwuegbunam was traded to Philadelphia from the Broncos in late August and he'll now sit for the second straight contest to open the 2023 campaign. It's possible that with one more week of practice under his belt, the tight end makes his Eagles debut in Week 3 versus the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

  • Travis Kelce TE | KC

Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Still limited at practice

Kelce (knee) remained a limited participant during Thursday's practice.

Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy previously told Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network that Kelce looked good in his return to practice Wednesday, though Nagy acknowledged that the decision on whether the standout tight end plays Sunday against the Jaguars will ultimately fall on the shoulders of head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach. With that in mind, Kelce could head into the weekend with a questionable designation, regardless of what he's able to do in Friday's practice.

  • Mark Andrews TE | BAL

Ravens' Mark Andrews: Another limited practice

Andrews (quadricep) remained a limited participant at practice Thursday.

Andrews, who was inactive for the Ravens' Week 1 win over the Texans, also was limited Wednesday, so unless the tight end practices fully Friday, he'll likely be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Andrews noted Thursday that he's "continuing to get better day-by-day," while adding that he's "excited for [the Ravens' Week 2] offensive game plan." If Andrews remains sidelined this weekend, however, Isaiah Likely would likely step in once again as Baltimore's top tight end.

  • Dalton Schultz TE | HOU

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Upgraded to full Thursday

Schultz (thigh) was upgraded to a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Following a limited session Wednesday, Schultz appears ready to roll for Sunday's Week 2 date with the Colts. The veteran tight end played 81 percent of the offensive snaps last week against the Ravens but turned four targets into just two catches for four yards. His playing time keeps him in the fantasy mix at a shallow position.
