Luke Musgrave TE | GB
Packers' Luke Musgrave: Comes up big on TD drive
Musgrave caught both of his targets for 15 yards in Saturday's 19-15 preseason win over Seattle.
Both catches came from Jordan Love and went for first downs to help the Packers score a TD on their third series of the game against Seattle's second-string defense. Most of the Green Bay starters were removed thereafter, and it appears Musgrave will be the team's top pass catcher at the position heading into a Week 1 contest at Chicago. While unlikely to take on an every-down role right out of the gate, Musgrave has the size and speed to eventually handle large workloads that include both in-line blocking and downfield route running.

Cole Kmet TE | CHI
Bears' Cole Kmet: Quiet in preseason finale
Kmet finished without a catch on one target in Saturday's preseason game against Buffalo.
Kmet played three drives and had his one catch wiped out by a penalty on a teammate. He's locked in as Chicago's top tight end ahead of a Week 1 matchup with Green Bay, joining WRs DJ Moore and Darnell Mooney as one of the top receiving options for third-year QB Justin Fields.

Chigoziem Okonkwo TE | WAS
Titans' Chigoziem Okonkwo: Should return soon
Coach Mike Vrabel said Saturday that he expects Okonkwo (leg) will return to practice this week, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Okonkwo was held out of Friday's preseason win over the Patriots after suffering a minor leg injury during joint practices leading up to the game. He should be fine for Week 1 at New Orleans and could even be the second option in Tennessee's passing game (behind WR DeAndre Hopkins) if WR Treylon Burks (knee) is still bothered by an LCL injury.

Tyree Jackson TE | WAS
Tyree Jackson: Leaving Philly
Jackson was waived by the Eagles on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Jackson was competing against several tight ends for the opportunity to back up Dallas Goedert. However, the team has opted to go in another direction, leaving Jackson without a team at the moment. It remains to be seen if the Eagles will give him a shot on their practice squad or if he will need to find a new city.

Dan Arnold TE | PHI
Dan Arnold: Expects to be cut by Eagles
The Eagles plan to release Darnold, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Arnold was competing for a depth tight end role in Philadelphia but ultimately came up short. The Eagles are doing the veteran a solid by releasing him before the final cut rush commences in order to give him a head start on seeking a new opportunity. The 28-year-old journeyman has spent time with the Saints, Cardinals, Panthers and Jaguars previously in his career.

Travis Kelce TE | KC
Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Not expected to face Browns
Kelce isn't in line to see action in Saturday's preseason finale against the Browns, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Palmer adds that QB Patrick Mahomes and WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling are also among the Kansas City players not expected to play Saturday. As Week 1 approaches, Kelce remains entrenched as the top fantasy option at his position due to his high-volume role in the Chiefs' Mahomes-helmed offense.

Josh Whyle TE | GB
Titans' Josh Whyle: Suffers apparent ankle injury
Whyle exited Friday's preseason game due to an ankle injury and is questionable to return, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Whyle caught one of three targets for eight yards before suffering what appeared to be an ankle injury. The 23-year-old was picked in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft after he recorded 658 receiving yards on 58 receptions with nine touchdowns in his final two seasons at Cincinnati. He's expected to play a depth role in Tennessee's tight end room ahead of the coming season.

George Kittle TE | SF
49ers' George Kittle: Held without a catch
Kittle finished without a catch on one target in Friday's preseason game against the Chargers.
Kittle and the starters played a couple drives and moved the ball with ease against Los Angeles' second-stringers. The tight end's only target was uncatchable, but he nonetheless proved his health after battling a groin injury earlier this summer. Kittle, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey provide QB Brock Purdy with a fantastic group of pass catchers heading into a tricky Week 1 matchup at Pittsburgh.

George Kittle TE | SF
49ers' George Kittle: Suiting up Friday
Kittle (groin) is in uniform ahead of Friday's preseason game against the Chargers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
With starting quarterback Brock Purdy expected to get some run in the 49ers' exhibition finale, he'll welcome back the team's top tight end for the first time this preseason. Kittle has been dealing with an adductor strain since Aug. 10, but he was able to mix into drills Monday and now will be available to San Francisco's offense along with wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

Hayden Hurst TE | LAC
Panthers' Hayden Hurst: Not targeted
Hurst wasn't targeted in Friday's preseason game against the Lions.
Hurst played most of the snaps with the first-team offense on the first two drives but nonetheless finishes the preseason with only one target (a five-yard catch) on QB Bryce Young's 24 pass attempts. While his role as the team's top receiving TE appears safe, Hurst is probably no better than the third or fourth option in Frank Reich's passing game heading into a Week 1 contest in Atlanta.
