  • Ravens' Diontae Johnson: Light role expected in debut

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that he expects Johnson to play about 10-to-15 snaps in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports reports.

Harbaugh noted that Johnson is still familiarizing himself with the new playbook after the Ravens acquired him from the Panthers on Tuesday, so the veteran wideout won't be handed a full role right off the bat in his team debut. Eventually, Harbaugh envisions Johnson providing a field-stretching weapon who's capable of burnishing the depth at receiver behind starters Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Johnson should eventually settle into a regular spot alongside Flowers and Bateman in three-receiver sets, but Johnson is unlikely to see the steady volume in the passing game he enjoyed in Carolina, where he had been averaging 8.3 targets per game over his seven appearances.

  • Gabe Davis WR | BUF

Jaguars' Gabe Davis: Trending toward sitting Week 9

Davis (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles but appears to be a "longshot" to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Though head coach Doug Pederson characterized Davis as a game-time decision when he last spoke to the media Friday, the receiver seemingly hasn't made enough progress from the shoulder injury he suffered in last Sunday's loss to Green Bay to give it a go in Week 9. Davis practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday through Friday, but unless his condition has dramatically improved when he's evaluated early Sunday, he'll likely be included on Jacksonville's inactive list, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. With Christian Kirk (collarbone) out for the season and Davis expected to sit out Sunday, added opportunities in the passing game should be available for wideouts Parker Washington and Tim Jones as well as tight ends Evan Engram and Brenton Strange. Brian Thomas (chest) -- who is listed as questionable but expected to play -- should also be locked in as Jacksonville's No. 1 option at receiver.

  • Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Lining up to play Sunday

Thomas (chest) is listed as questionable but expected to play Sunday against the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Barring a setback in pregame warmups, Thomas should be officially cleared to play upon the release of the Jaguars' inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. Thomas was one of three Jacksonville receivers to emerge from the Week 8 loss to the Packers with an injury, as he was forced out in the second half with a chest contusion. The rookie was then a limited participant in practice throughout Week 9 prep before head coach Doug Pederson characterized him as a game-time decision for Sunday, but Thomas looks like he'll be ready to lead a depleted Jacksonville receiving corps, which could result in an extra target or two going his way. Christian Kirk is out for the season after fracturing his left collarbone in Week 8, while Gabe Davis exited the loss to Green Bay with a shoulder injury and is listed as questionable for Week 9 but looks like a longshot to play in Philadelphia.

  • Cody White WR | SEA

Seahawks' Cody White: Elevated ahead of Week 9 contest

The Seahawks elevated White from their practice squad Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

If he's active Sunday, White will suit up for the first time since he played in one game for the Steelers in 2022. The 25-year-old spent part of last year on Seattle's practice squad but didn't get elevated at any point. White's elevation this weekend is tied to DK Metcalf being sidelined due to a knee injury.

  • Tyler Boyd WR | TEN

Titans' Tyler Boyd: Looks set for Sunday

Boyd (shoulder), who is questionable for Sunday's contest against New England, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Boyd didn't practice at all this week due to a shoulder issue, but he was nonetheless given a chance to play with a questionable tag heading into the weekend. It appears the veteran wideout will indeed be able to suit up Sunday, which should be a boost to Tennessee's air attack. Boyd has put up modest numbers this season but has at least two catches in every game thus far and logged a season-high six targets last Sunday versus Detroit.

  • Xavier Legette WR | CAR

Panthers' Xavier Legette: Intends to take field Sunday

Legette (toe), who is officially questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans, plans to play, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.

Legette popped up on the injury report Thursday due to a toe injury and ended the week with a pair of limited practices. He was deemed questionable heading into the weekend, but he looks as though he'll be able to give it a go versus the Saints. With Diontae Johnson traded to the Ravens on Tuesday, Legette takes over as Carolina's de facto No. 1 wideout, and he'll look to build upon the three receiving touchdowns he's scored over the past five weeks, though he's averaging a modest 3.2 catches for 26.8 yards during that span.

  • Puka Nacua WR | LAR

Rams' Puka Nacua: Should play Week 9

Nacua (knee) is listed as questionable but is expected to be available for Sunday's game at Seattle, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Nacua banged his right knee into the ground during Thursday's practice, though head coach Sean McVay noted afterward that the injury wasn't a serious one. Nevertheless, Nacua didn't practice Friday and was listed as questionable before traveling with the team Saturday. The Rams don't kick off until 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, so his status won't be confirmed until most of the Week 9 slate already is in action. Assuming he suits up, Nacua will team up with Cooper Kupp as the primary pass catchers for quarterback Matthew Stafford, while Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Whittington (shoulder), Tyler Johnson and Xavier Smith are the other wide receivers on the active roster.

  • Panthers' Deven Thompkins: Elevated by Carolina

The Panthers elevated Thompkins from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Thompkins signed with the Panthers' practice squad in late September after being let go with an injury settlement by the team during training camp. Thompkins gives the Panthers insurance at wide receiver in case rookie first-rounder Xavier Legette (toe) is unable to play Sunday against the Saints.

  • Jalen Virgil WR | BUF

Bills' Jalen Virgil: Elevated for Week 9

The Bills elevated Virgil from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Virgil was elevated for Week 8 against the Seahawks, during which he played 21 snaps (11 on offense, 10 on special teams). Virgil could see some additional playing time on offense Sunday against the Dolphins if one or both of Amari Cooper (wrist) and Curtis Samuel (pectoral) is unable to play.

  • Adam Thielen WR | PIT

Panthers' Adam Thielen: Not returning Sunday

Thielen (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game versus the Saints, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Considering he put together an LP-LP-DNP practice regimen this week, Thielen appears to have been testing out his right hamstring to see if a return to action was possible Sunday. His subsequent listing of doubtful indicated it wasn't, and Carolina has confirmed as much before game day. Thielen thus will turn his focus to Sunday, Nov. 10 against the Giants as his next possible chance to suit up for the first time since Week 3.
