  • Darnell Mooney WR | NYG

Bears' Darnell Mooney: Posts five receptions

Mooney caught five passes for 26 yards in the Bears' 34-14 loss to the Rams on Sunday.

Mooney had been on the injury report with a back issue coming into this game, but he ended up playing every snap while finishing second on the team with seven targets. With the Rams applying consistent pressure to Andy Dalton, there was little chance of getting the downfield game going, and as a result Mooney's longest reception went for nine yards. After getting this tough matchup out of the way, Mooney could be in line for a run of solid production based on his talent and opportunity as the clear second option in the passing game after Allen Robinson.

  • Bears' Marquise Goodwin: Leads team in receiving

Goodwin caught four passes for 45 yards in the Bears' 34-14 loss to the Rams on Sunday.

Despite the decent production, Goodwin was fifth on the team with five targets while playing on 38 percent of the snaps. With Andy Dalton under consistent pressure, Goodwin's deep speed didn't come into play, but overall, he had a solid debut with Chicago, and if he continues to see targets, he could become a depth piece on fantasy rosters.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Makes three grabs in debut

Marshall caught three of six targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 19-14 win over the Jets.

Marshall's regular-season debut saw him trail only Christian McCaffrey and DJ Moore in targets, including a couple looks in the red zone. The second-rounder's final stats weren't overly impressive, but after a standout preseason, it's good to see Marshall remain regularly involved now that the games matter. Although fellow wideout Robby Anderson will surely garner more than Sunday's three targets in most games, Marshall's status as Carolina's third wideout gives him decent value going into Week 2's divisional matchup versus the Saints.

  • Browns' Donovan Peoples-Jones: Starts, targeted once

Peoples-Jones started at wideout in place of Odell Beckham (knee, inactive) and caught his lone target for four yards in Sunday's 33-29 loss to Kansas City.

Peoples-Jones played 80 percent of the snaps (47 of 59) but was not looked at much by quarterback Baker Mayfield. That's mildly surprising, as the second-year wideout was a standout in camp. With Beckham sitting out, this was perceived as a big opportunity for Peoples-Jones. Instead, Peoples-Jones watched Jarvis Landry and rookie Anthony Schwartz gobble up 10 of the 11 wide receiver targets Week 1.

  • Darius Slayton WR | IND

Giants' Darius Slayton: Shows chops as deep threat Sunday

Slayton caught three of seven targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Broncos.

The third-year receiver did most of his damage on the Giants' opening drive, hauling in a 42-yard pass from Daniel Jones, but Slayton was mostly quiet after that. Sterling Shepard was Jones' primary option in this one, with Kenny Golladay posting similar numbers to Slayton, and 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney should also factor into the mix eventually after a shaky NFL debut. That will likely leave Slayton dependent on big plays for his production, but big plays could be hard to come by in Week 2 as the Giants head to Washington for a Thursday night tilt.

  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: Breaks off long score on SNF

Jefferson corralled two of three targets for 80 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-14 win over Chicago.

Matthew Stafford connected with Jefferson on a big 67-yard touchdown on the national stage. The 2020 second-round pick still finished fourth in the pecking order of targets, so fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to the gaudy final line. Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods remain atop the depth chart, so Jefferson is more of a boom-or-bust option heading into Week 2 when the Rams take on the Colts.

  • Giants' Sterling Shepard: Big effort in loss

Shepard caught seven of nine targets for 113 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Broncos.

He caught Daniel Jones' only TD pass on the afternoon, a 37-yard score in the second quarter that gave the Giants their only lead of the game. Shepard led the team in catches and targets, but a deep receiving corps that includes Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton and 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney likely won't let him dominate Jones' attention too often. New York faces a quick turnaround before heading to Washington for a Thursday clash in Week 2.

  • Robert Woods WR | PIT

Rams' Robert Woods: Scores on four touches

Woods caught three passes (four targets) for 27 yards and a touchdown, adding seven more yards on his lone carry in Sunday's 34-14 rout of the Bears.

Cooper Kupp (108 yards, TD) and Van Jefferson (80 yards, TD) stole the show in terms of big plays, but Woods remained a key part of a Rams offense that has a new quarterback and several more weapons at the receiving positions than in prior years. The veteran still finished second in targets amongst wide receivers, and he is likely to have bigger games than Sunday's output. Still, Jefferson and the newly-acquired DeSean Jackson could eat into both starting wideout's targets this season. Woods remains a safe option heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Colts.

  • Allen Robinson WR | DET

Bears' Allen Robinson: Does little with 11 targets

Robinson had six receptions (11 targets) for 35 yards in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Rams.

Robinson and the entirety of the Bears' passing attack could not get anything going against the Rams' stellar defense. The high volume of targets is a positive sign that the 28-year-old is still the top option for Andy Dalton (or Justin Fields) this season. While this was a frustrating performance for Robinson's fantasy managers, it is worth noting that he had to deal with shutdown corner Jalen Ramsey, who held Robinson to just one catch when they met last season, for the majority of the contest. The veteran wideout will have a chance to rebound against the Bengals in Week 2.

  • Davante Adams WR | LAR

Packers' Davante Adams: Makes little impact in loss

Adams caught five of seven targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.

Aaron Rodgers had one of the worst games of his career, and as a result Adams couldn't get much going even though he led the Packers in receptions. The All-Pro receiver might have posted better numbers, but both he and Rodgers took a seat for most of the fourth quarter in the blowout. Adams should be able to rebound at home in Week 2 against a Lions squad he's lit up for 57 catches, 602 yards and seven TDs in 11 career meetings.
