DeVonta Smith WR | PHI
Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Week-to-week with knee injury
Smith is considered week-to-week with a knee sprain, though the Eagles expect him back sooner than later, according to Bo Wulf of The Athletic.
Smith suffered the injury Saturday and was held out of practice Monday. We might normally worry about a rookie falling behind and missing out on his chance to earn a role, but the Eagles don't have much else at wide receiver, and the other guys -- namely Jalen Reagor, Travis Fulgham and Quez Watkins -- also have been banged up during the early part of training camp. Smith, the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner, has been working with the starting offense since the first day of camp, continuing to develop a rapport with young quarterback Jalen Hurts. That may be put on pause for a few weeks, but it sounds like Smith will be ready for the Week 1 start, potentially serving as Philly's No. 1 wide receiver right out of the gate.

Amari Cooper WR | LV
Cowboys' Amari Cooper: Looking great in rehab work
Coach Mike McCarthy said Cooper (ankle) "looks great" and has been doing good work with the training staff, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
McCarthy said he's been getting "extremely positive" reports from the strength and conditioning staff, perhaps hinting at Cooper making it back on the practice field soon. However, team president Jerry Jones said last week that he expected Cooper to resume practicing in mid-August, so we shouldn't expect anything too imminent. Cooper hasn't practiced in any capacity since having ankle surgery in early January, but Jones did mention that he thought the wideout could briefly appear in a game this preseason.

DeVonta Smith WR | PHI
Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Absent to start week
Smith (leg) isn't practicing Monday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
The rookie appeared to work as Philadelphia's No. 1 receiver during the first week of training camp, but it only took a few days before Smith joined fellow wideouts Jalen Reagor and Travis Fulgham on the injured list. Each of the three is dealing with a lower-body injury, and while none of the issues seems serious, they're all missing out on opportunities to build chemistry with second-year QB Jalen Hurts. Assuming he's back on the field within a few weeks, Smith should still be on track to start the season opener, likely with fellow first-round pick Reagor lined up on the other side.

James Proche WR | TEN
Ravens' James Proche: Making waves early in camp
Proche has impressed through the early part of training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
The second-year receiver is doing exactly what he needed to in order to secure his roster spot after the Ravens added several wideouts during the offseason. Proche, who recorded just one catch as a rookie, reportedly has been the most productive receiver in practice thus far and is showing reliable hands and an ability to get open. At this rate, Proche should make the team, though he'd likely open the year well down the depth chart.

Dazz Newsome WR | SF
Bears' Dazz Newsome: Coming off PUP
Newsome (collarbone) will be removed from the PUP list for a limited practice Monday, Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
The rookie sixth-round pick will get back on the field exactly two months after his initial injury, falling right in line with the recovery timeline. Newsome should have plenty of time to prepare for Week 1, but that doesn't mean he'll earn a significant role, or even a roster spot. He'll still have his work cut out for him.

Richie James WR | KC
49ers' Richie James: Will compete for slot job
James is one of the primary candidates to compete for the 49ers' starting slot receiver role during training camp, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
James was considered an early favorite for the job after the team lost a couple of proven options at the position this past offseason. That said, veteran Mohamed Sanu has taken an early lead in the competition, according to Barrows, as his experience in previous Shanahan regimes has led to an easy transition with his new club. James also suffered a couple of ugly drops during the team's first organized practice, but he shook off the rust with a strong showing Saturday. Even if the speedy wideout doesn't win the job, he's all but a lock to make the active roster in some capacity.

Davion Davis WR | WAS
Browns' Davion Davis: Joins Cleveland
Davis signed a contract with the Browns on Saturday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Davis was let go by the Vikings early in camp last year and didn't see game action in 2020. The 24-year-old appeared in two games during 2019 but is still looking for his first career reception.

Josh Imatorbhebhe WR | JAC
Jaguars' Josh Imatorbhebhe: Managing injury
Imatorbhebhe is dealing with an undisclosed injury, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but Imatorbhebhe has been limited at practice. He signed as a UDFA out of Illinois in the spring.

Donovan Peoples-Jones WR | NO
Browns' Donovan Peoples-Jones: Takes advantage of absences
Peoples-Jones has been given increased usage during drills early in camp, Ellis L. Williams of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Peoples-Jones enters camp fourth on the depth chart, but he's getting a lot of love in 11-on-11 drills as the Browns take it easy on Odell Beckham (knee) and Jarvis Landry. That decision with their top-two receivers, plus Rashard Higgins' ankle injury, gives Peoples-Jones and quarterback Baker Mayfield reps to establish a rhythm.

Jalen Reagor WR | MIA
Eagles' Jalen Reagor: Takes part in team drills
Reagor (lower body) participated in team drills at Saturday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
Reagor was previously limited to individual work after failing a conditioning test at the start of training camp, but he appears to be nearing full strength. The 22-year-old has nearly two weeks to continue ramping things up before the preseason opener Aug. 12 versus Pittsburgh.
