  • Patriots' Efton Chism: Finds end zone Saturday

Chism caught all six of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 20-12 preseason win over the Vikings.

The undrafted rookie out of Eastern Washington continued to be one of the stars of training camp and the preseason for the Patriots. Chism's score came late in the second quarter, as he took a short pass from Joshua Dobbs and fought his way across the goal line for a 12-yard TD. While the top of New England's depth chart at wideout seems set, Chism has put himself in strong contention for the final available spot, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

  • Patriots' Kyle Williams: Three grabs against Vikes

Williams caught all three of his targets for 24 yards in Saturday's 20-12 preseason win over Minnesota.

After failing to haul in a pass in the Patriots' preseason opener, Williams looked a little more settled Saturday, with his longest gain going for 13 yards late in the first quarter. The 2025 third-round pick still wasn't working with the first-team offense, as all three of his receptions came with Joshua Dobbs under center, but Williams is locked into a roster spot and could see more volume than expected early in the season if Stefon Diggs (knee) is limited in his return from ACL surgery.

  • Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Leaves field on cart

Johnston (head) was carted off the field during Saturday's preseason game versus the Rams, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

Johnston remained on the turf after landing hard on his helmet early in the first quarter and then was taken to the locker room, likely to undergo tests to determine the nature of his injury. Assuming a head injury is confirmed, he'd be subject to the concussion protocol in order to practice and eventually play again.

  • Patriots' DeMario Douglas: Fails to catch only target Saturday

Douglas didn't catch his only target in Saturday's 20-12 preseason win over the Vikings.

Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins got the start at wide receiver for the Patriots, but Douglas made a brief cameo on the team's first possession and couldn't connect with Drake Maye on a shot downfield. The 2023 sixth-round pick seems locked into a starting job opposite Stefon Diggs (knee) once the regular season begins, and if Maye takes the leap forward expected of him in his second NFL campaign, Douglas should be able to surpass the 66-621-3 line he posted on 87 targets over 17 games last season.

  • Ainias Smith WR | CAR

Eagles' Ainias Smith: Hauls in TD in Saturday's loss

Smith caught both his targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 22-13 preseason loss to the Browns.

The 2024 fifth-round pick connected with rookie QB Kyle McCord for a nine-yard score late in the second quarter, the Eagles' final points of the afternoon. Smith is in a dogfight with Terrace Marshall and Darius Cooper for the final one or two spots on the wideout depth chart, but it's not a role likely to have much fantasy value in an offense where touches are dominated by Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith.

  • Isaac TeSlaa WR | DET

Lions' Isaac TeSlaa: Scores again Saturday

TeSlaa secured four of five targets for 41 yards and one touchdown during the Lions' 24-17 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday.

TeSlaa has now hit paydirt in back-to-back preseason contests, and he impressed similarly in Detroit's exhibition opener against the Chargers in the Hall of Fame Game on July 31, securing two of three targets for 46 scoreless yards. It's fair to say that the rookie third-round pick has build significant momentum throughout training camp and the preseason. TeSlaa will have one more chance to impress in exhibition action next Saturday versus the Texans, as he works to push Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond for reps as the No. 3 receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

  • Colts' Michael Pittman: Two grabs in preseason debut

Pittman secured two of three targets for 31 yards in the Colts' 23-19 preseason loss to the Packers on Saturday afternoon.

The veteran receiver showed off some solid chemistry with Daniel Jones in their first taste of game action together, recording nine- and 22-yard gains on two of the first three plays of Indianapolis' second possession. Pittman is coming off a somewhat disappointing 2024 in which he finished with a 69-808-3 receiving line after posting a career-high 109 catches and 1,152 receiving yards the season prior, but he's projected to once again serve as the Colts' unquestioned No. 1 wideout.

  • Theo Wease Jr. WR | MIA

Dolphins' Theo Wease: Making case to stick around

Wease secured six of nine targets for 80 yards and two scores during Saturday's 24-17 preseason win over the Lions.

Wease led the Dolphins in terms of targets, yards and touchdowns Saturday, with only Tanner Conner matching his receptions total. Both of his scores came with fellow rookie Quinn Ewers under center, with the two first connecting in the third quarter to tie things up at 14 overall, then once more early in the fourth quarter to give Miami a game-winning lead. Wease and Ewers will have another chance to demonstrate their chemistry during the Dolphins' preseason finale against Jacksonville next Saturday. If Wease can keep up his momentum, he'll have a fair shot to earn a spot on Miami's practice squad.

  • Jayden Higgins WR | HOU

Texans' Jayden Higgins: One catch in second preseason game

Higgins brought in one of three targets for 14 yards in the Texans' 20-3 preseason win over the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The rookie second-round pick was out there with the first-team offense and made his one reception on the Texans' second drive, which culminated in a Nico Collins touchdown reception. The timing of Higgins' participation in the game continues to suggest he's on a path to opening the regular season as the No. 3 receiver behind Nico Collins and Christian Kirk.

  • Jamari Thrash WR | CLE

Browns' Jamari Thrash: Four catches in preseason win

Thrash caught all four of his targets for 43 yards in Saturday's 22-13 preseason win over the Eagles.

Although Cedric Tillman and Diontae Johnson got the start for the Browns while Jerry Jeudy was held out of the contest, Thrash was heavily involved early, making all four of his receptions on throws from Dillon Gabriel on the team's first three possessions. Perhaps more importantly, the 2024 fifth-round pick out-produced the veteran Johnson, who caught only one of three targets for seven yards. Jeudy and Tillman are locked into the top two spots on the depth chart, but Thrash is making a strong case for the No. 3 role.
