  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

    Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Still day-to-day

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Hill (oblique) is still day-to-day and that he's unsure whether the wide receiver will participate in joint practices this week with the Lions, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.

McDaniel said the same of fellow starting wideout Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed), who like Hill sat out Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears. There haven't yet been any serious warning flags raised regarding the status of either Hill or Waddle for Week 1, but it's less than ideal for both of Miami's star receivers to be missing reps at this stage. One or both of them could still take part in the joint practices however, with McDaniel saying "they're definitely in the conversation," per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | WAS

Commanders' Deebo Samuel: Building chemistry with Daniels

Samuel and Jayden Daniels have shown a strong connection throughout training camp, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Samuel has been the de facto No. 1 wideout at training camp due to the absence of Terry McLaurin, who requested a trade at the beginning of August as part of a contract dispute. It sounds like Samuel and Daniels have built chemistry quickly, setting the table for the former 49er to have a big role in Washington's offense right out of the gate. The report also notes that Samuel currently weighs around 220 pounds, with nine percent body fat, after playing much of last season at 225 pounds. Conditioning was an issue for the wideout last year in San Francisco, although that was due to a case of pneumonia more than his weight or fitness. Samuel focused on improving his stamina this offseason in preparation for a role in Kliff Kingsbury's uptempo offense.

  • Monaray Baldwin: Let go by Miami

The Dolphins waived Baldwin on Monday.

Baldwin played 13 snaps on offense during Sunday's preseason game against the Bears but failed to record a catch on one target. Assuming he clears waivers, the undrafted free agent out of Baylor will look to join a team in need of depth at wide receiver.

  • Chris Tyree WR | NO

Saints' Chris Tyree: Goes to injured reserve

Tyree (undisclosed) reverted to New Orleans' injured-reserve list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Tyree was not claimed by another team after the Saints waived him with an undisclosed injury Sunday, and now he's back with the club on IR. Unless he can work out an injury settlement with New Orleans, he's set to spend the entire 2025 season sidelined.

  • Kawaan Baker WR | GB

Kawaan Baker: Cut by Las Vegas

Baker was waived by the Raiders on Monday.

Baker signed with the Raiders on Aug. 3, but he will now potentially be looking for another opportunity elsewhere. The move made room for Marquez Callaway, who was signed by the team Monday. If Baker clears waivers, it's certainly possible that he sticks around Las Vegas as a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Raiders' Marquez Callaway: Headed to Las Vegas

Callaway and the Raiders agreed on a contract Monday.

Callaway will join the Raiders ahead of the team's second preseason contest Saturday versus the 49ers. The wide receiver has appeared in five regular-season games in the last two years with the Saints and Buccaneers, and if he does crack the Raiders' 53-man roster, it'd likely be as a special-teams asset.

  • Luke Floriea WR | CLE

Luke Floriea: Let go by Cleveland

The Browns waived Floriea (hamstring) with an injury designation Monday.

Floriea suffered a hamstring injury during the Browns' preseason win over the Panthers on Friday, with head coach Kevin Stefanski indicating that the injury is "serious," per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com. Floriea will revert to the Browns' injured-reserve list if he's not claimed off waivers by another team. Were that to be the case, he would be forced to sit out for the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Browns.

  • Tez Johnson WR | TB

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Returns to practice

Johnson (leg) participated in Monday's training camp practice, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Johnson has been held out of practice and missed the Buccaneers' preseason win over the Titans on Saturday due to a leg injury. His return to practice is timely, as the rookie seventh-rounder is competing for a spot on the Bucs' 53-man roster as a depth wide receiver and return option on kickoffs and punts.

  • Colts' D.J. Montgomery: Misses practice Monday

Montgomery missed Monday's practice with an undisclosed injury, the Indianapolis Star reports.

Montgomery was not targeted and did not have a carry in Thursday's preseason loss at Baltimore. He was seen being assisted to the medical tent. He's likely dealing with some kind of injury as a result.

  • 49ers' Jordan Watkins: Has high-ankle sprain

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Watkins is nursing a high-ankle sprain and will be out roughly one month, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

Watkins suffered the injury during the 49ers' 30-9 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday, per David Lombardi of SFStandard.com, in which he corralled three of six targets for 56 yards. The timing of the rookie fourth-round pick's injury is discouraging, as he appeared to be putting together real momentum early in training camp and injuries elsewhere in San Francisco's wide receiver corps had opened up real opportunities. His status now looks uncertain for Week 1 against the Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 7.
