  • Will Shipley RB | PHI

Eagles' Will Shipley: Philly's top RB for Week 5

Shipley will lead the Eagles' backfield against the Jaguars on Week 5 due to the absences of both Saquon Barkley (hamstring) and Tank Bigsby (abdomen, IR), Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports.

Barkley and Bigsby both sustained injuries during the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Rams, and with both running backs sidelined for Week 5, the Eagles will turn to Shipley to handle RB1 duties while Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele provide backfield depth. Shipley is averaging 3.4 yards per carry though four games this season, and his work will be cut out for him against a Jaguars defense that allows the third-fewest rushing yards in the NFL (74.3).

  • Jalen Ramsey CB | PIT

Steelers' Jalen Ramsey: Questionable for Sunday

Ramsey (wrist) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts, Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports.

Ramsey did not practice on Wednesday but managed to finish the week with two consecutive limited sessions. The slot cornerback played through his wrist injury in the Steelers' loss to the Browns last Thursday and will likely do the same in Sunday's contest against the Colts.

  • Patriots' Christian Barmore: Tagged as questionable vs. Raiders

Barmore (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

A shoulder injury prevented Barmore from playing in the Patriots' Week 4 win over the Bills. He opened Week 5 prep with back-to-back limited practices before logging a full session Friday, but whether he can play Sunday may not be officially known until about 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Patriots announce their list of inactive players. His return would revert Joshua Farmer and DaQuan Jones to rotational roles at defensive end, with Milton Williams being the other starter at the position.

  • Raiders' Dont'e Thornton: Won't return for Week 5

Thornton (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com reports.

Thornton was a full participant in all three Week 5 prep practices but will not be activated from IR for Sunday's contest. The wide receiver was designated to return to practice Wednesday and the Raiders likely deemed the 23-year-old to not be adjusted to NFL physicality enough to return to the field the same week.

  • Patriots' Reggie Gilliam: Won't play against Las Vegas

Gilliam (ankle/knee) has been ruled out against the Raiders on Sunday.

Gilliam was able to play through an ankle injury that he picked up during the Patriots' Week 4 win over the Bills, but he ended Week 5 prep with back-to-back DNPs while dealing with that issue and a new knee injury. The Patriots don't have another fullback on the active roster nor the practice squad, so they could turn to tight ends like Eli Raridon, Cameron Latu and Tanner Arkin to serve as backfield blockers in Gilliam's absence. Gilliam's next chance to suit up is Week 6 against the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • DJ Moore WR | BUF

Bills' DJ Moore: Remains sidelined Friday

Moore (shoulder) remained a non-participant in Friday's practice for the Bills.

With back-to-back absences, Moore isn't looking great for Sunday's game at the Rams, though he'll still have one more chance Saturday to practice. If he doesn't end up playing, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer will be the top candidates to replace Moore's snaps, with slot receiver Khalil Shakir and tight end Dalton Kincaid potentially helping to pick up the slack in terms of target volume.

  • Patriots' Christian Gonzalez: Missing second consecutive game

Gonzalez (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Las Vegas.

Gonzalez will be held out for a second-straight week due to a shoulder injury, which prevented him from practicing during Week 5 prep. Carlton Davis (neck), Karon Prunty (hamstring) and Channing Canada (hamstring) has also been ruled out, so the Patriots may have to start Charles Woods (shouler) and Marcus Jones at outside cornerback against the Raiders on Sunday.

  • Patriots' Carlton Davis: Won't play against Las Vegas

Davis (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Davis was held out of practice all week due to a neck injury, slimming down a Patriots secondary that will also be without Christian Gonzalez (shoulder), Channing Canada (hamstring) and rookie Karon Prunty (hamstring), with Charles Woods (shoulder) and Craig Woodson (shoulder) listed as questionable. Woods would presumably be one of the starting outside cornerbacks if cleared to play Sunday, but with Davis and Gonzalez both sidelined, the Patriots may have to turn to Marcus Jones, Mike Brown, Jaylen Reed or another defensive back from the practice squad to fill in the second starting spot. Davis' next opportunity to play is Week 6 against the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • Rams' Colby Parkinson: Full practice Friday

Parkinson (shoulder/knee) practiced fully Friday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Coach Sean McVay told Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site on Thursday that the Rams plan to increase Parkinson's activity level as the week goes on. Indeed, Parkinson followed up a limited session with an uncapped one a day later, meaning he'll miss just one contest as a result of shoulder and knee injuries. Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Davis Allen and Max Klare are the team's current healthy tight ends with Terrance Ferguson (ankle) on injured reserve.

  • Jets' Isaiah Williams: Expanded role again for Week 5

Adonai Mitchell (finger) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, so Williams should serve as the Jets' WR2 behind Garrett Wilson for a third consecutive week.

It'll be the third game in a row that Mitchell will miss while recovering from a finger injury, and the severity around his health concern is not clear according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Williams has only three catches (on five targets) over his last two games without Mitchell, but the former hauled in two of three targets for 73 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith, in Week 4 against the Bears.
