Van Ness (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Van Ness sustained a foot injury during the Packers' Week 6 win over the Bengals, and he'll miss a second straight game as a result. The 2023 first-rounder has worked in a rotational role at defensive end this season, so his absence means more snaps are available for Kingsley Enagbare and rookie fourth-rounder Barryn Sorrell. Van Ness will look to progress enough in his recovery to return to practice during the Packers' Week 9 prep.

The Ravens signed Huntley to their active roster Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Huntley had been on the team's practice squad, but his signing comes as no surprise after coach John Harbaugh revealed Friday that Huntley would get the starting QB nod over Cooper Rush on Sunday against the Bears in the event that Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is deemed unable to play. Jackson is officially listed as questionable for the contest after practicing fully Friday.

Wyatt (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Wyatt missed the Packers' two games following the Week 5 bye due to a knee injury he sustained against the Cowboys in Week 4. He was limited in practice all week, and his official status for Sunday night's game may not be officially announced until the Packers provide their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Wyatt's return would lead to less rotational snaps at defensive tackle for Karl Brooks and Nazir Stackhouse.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that the 49ers may designate Aiyuk (knee) to return from the reserve/PUP list next week, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports.

Aiyuk is a shade more than one year removed from tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee Week 7 of last season. Once the 49ers make the aforementioned transaction, be it next week or beyond that point, the team will have a 21-day window in which to evaluate Aiyuk in practice to determine his return to action. Shanahan added that San Francisco currently is in "week-to-week mode" with Aiyuk, meaning he may need a few weeks to get up to speed before gaining clearance to play.

McKinney (ankle/knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Steelers, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

McKinney tweaked his ankle and knee during the Packers' Week 7 win over the Cardinals. Those injuries limited his practice participation Wednesday and Thursday, but he faded an injury designation for Week 8 after practicing in full Friday. The sixth-year safety has opened the season with 36 tackles (16 solo) and three pass defenses (one interception) through six regular-season games.

Williams (back) does not have an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Steelers, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Williams opened the week with back-to-back limited practices before ending with a full session Friday, which puts him on track to play Sunday. The second-year safety has played every single defensive snap in three of six regular-season games, and he has accumulated 39 tackles (17 solo), two pass defenses (one interception) and one fumble recovery on the year.

Jones will start Sunday's game at Houston after coach Kyle Shanahan ruled out Brock Purdy (toe), Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Jones gets his sixth start in the past seven contests in place of Purdy, who is still bothered by a turf toe injury. Jones has averaged 280.8 yards per game on 67.0 percent passing while tossing six touchdowns versus four interceptions. Jones will have RB Christian McCaffrey, WRs Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne and TE George Kittle as his primary targets for Week 8.

Carter (concussion) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Bengals, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Carter has cleared the concussion protocol after missing last Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Carter has started all four games in which he's played this season, logging 13 tackles (nine solo) and a pair of pass breakups.

Pearsall (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Houston, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Pearsall hasn't practiced since September and will now miss a fourth straight game. Meanwhile, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Brandon Aiyuk (ACL) may return to practice next week, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. For now, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are the team's starting wide receivers.

Smith (knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Broncos, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Smith has avoided an injury tag for Week 8 after logging a full practice Friday. He has been working through a lingering knee issue since training camp, but the injury has not sidelined the 2022 first-rounder this season.
