  • Commanders' Boogie Basham: Inks with Commanders

Basham was signed by the Commanders on Monday.

The Commanders added some veteran edge depth Monday with Basham joining the team. Basham played in three games with the Panthers last season and hasn't played more than five games in a season since 2023.

  • Chargers' Keaton Mitchell: Suffers mild setback

Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel said Monday that there had been "a mild setback" with Mitchell with an undisclosed issue.

McDaniel did not indicate what Mitchell has experienced a setback from, as no injury to the running back has been reported this offseason. "I think the running back position is, we sustained a mild setback with Keaton, but realistically, that's a position that you're always wanting to have three, and I like what our young guys are doing to press into that group," McDaniel said regarding the Chargers' backfield depth. Mitchell could be held out of the team's preseason finale Thursday against the Rams, but as yet there's no suggestion he could sit out Week 1 against the Cardinals.

  • Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Should be fine after shoulder scare

Coach Liam Coeh said Tuesday that Thomas is "alright" after falling on his shoulder in practice, and the team will now focus on getting him ready for Week 1 against the Browns, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.

Thomas had a scare in Tuesday's joint practice, falling on his shoulder on a touchdown grab. Coen reiterated that holding Thomas out for the remainder of the practice period was the smart move. The mention of Cleveland suggests that the team won't risk any further preseason game action for Thomas as it gears up for the regular season.

  • Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Shaken up in joint practice

Thomas (upper body) was shaken up after catching a touchdown in joint practice Tuesday against the Buccaneers but is still in full uniform, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.

It's possible that Thomas will return to Tuesday's session, as he remained on the sideline rather than retreating to the locker room. However, Thomas was favoring his shoulder following the grab. The Jaguars will likely provide an update on the wideout's status after practice.

  • DJ Giddens RB | IND

Colts' DJ Giddens: Set to practice this week

Giddens (hamstring) will practice this week, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Giddens had been hampered by a hamstring issue for a good chunk of the preseason. He did not play in Indianapolis' most recent preseason game, either. Coach Shane Steichen provided an update on him Tuesday, indicating that Giddens will be back in the mix at practice as the team prepares to wrap up preseason. Still, time is running out for Giddens to establish himself on the depth chart behind Jonathan Taylor.

  • Cade Otton TE | TB

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Back at practice

Otton (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Otton missed about a week of action for the Bucs, and it's unclear if he'll play in Friday's preseason finale against Jacksonville. Last season, Otton matched his career high with 59 catches across 16 regular-season games, turning them into 572 yards and one touchdown. He's expected to be the third or fourth option in Tampa Bay's passing attack in 2026.

  • Tyler Warren TE | IND

Colts' Tyler Warren: Remains out with groin issue

Warren (groin) may not practice this week as the team prepares to have him available for the season opener, Jake Arthur of Roundtable Sports reports.

"We're gonna be pretty smart with Tyler [Warren] this week," said coach Shane Steichen on Tuesday. Warren, who suffered a strained abductor last week in joint practice, is being brought along cautiously and may continue to miss practice with the intent of having him ready to go Week 1. Even if Warren is unable to practice this week or play in the preseason finale, there is still time for the promising second-year tight end to be ready to go without missing regular-season games.

  • Patriots' TreVeyon Henderson: Dealing with minor ankle injury

Henderson has been diagnosed with a lower right ankle injury and will undergo further "precautionary" tests, Christopher Price of the Boston Globe reports.

Henderson is "walking and moving fine," according to Price, after the second-year running back was dinged up in Monday's practice when he slipped on the turf. Henderson was already expected to rest for the preseason finale. He may not practice the remainder of the week, but it sounds like Henderson has a good chance of suiting up for the Patriots' regular-season opener against Seahawks on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

  • Alec Pierce WR | IND

Colts' Alec Pierce: May practice this week

Pierce (ankle) will not practice Tuesday, but coach Shane Steichen said he's optimistic the wideout will practice this week, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Steichen added that there have been no conversations about keeping Pierce on the PUP list. The wideout continues to work his way back from a clean-up procedure on his ankle back in April. It sounds as though a return to practice is on the horizon, potentially even this week.

  • Buccaneers' Tristan Wirfs: Full-go Tuesday

Wirfs (hamstring) practiced in full-team drills Tuesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Wirfs looks to be ready for the season after a hamstring injury early in camp kept him sidelined for a spell. He returned in limited fashion last week and is now progressing to full-team work and one-on-ones against starters.
