  Johnson recorded four total tackles (three solo), including 2.0 sacks, during Sunday's 20-6 win over Houston. Johnson was able to get to C.J. Stroud for a pair of sacks in the fourth quarter, and he has already matched his career high with 2.0 sacks this season. The defensive lineman was only on the field for 30 percent of the team's defensive snaps against Houston, and he's unlikely to repeat his performance Week 3 versus the Steelers.

  Johnson tallied 20 total tackles (11 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across nine regular-season games in 2025. Johnson, a 2024 sixth-round pick from Ole Miss, set career highs in total tackles and sacks while logging 207 defensive snaps during his second NFL season. He missed the first eight games of Cincinnati's 2025 campaign but came on strong late in the year, with all of his sacks coming over the final two weeks of the regular season. Under contract through 2027, Johnson is expected to remain one of the Bengals' top reserve defensive ends next season.

Johnson was limited Wednesday and has appeared in two games since being activated from injured reserve in October.   Johnson was wearing a protective boot on his left foot Saturday as he deals with a left calf strain, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Johnson was also using a scooter to get around the locker room, so it appears he's not close to be ready to practice. The 23-year-old played in nine regular-season games as a rookie last year, compiling seven tackles, including 1.0 sacks. He's competing for a depth role heading into his second NFL campaign.

  The Bengals selected Johnson in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 214th overall. Johnson was a pass-rush specialist throughout his time at Ole Miss. Of his 112 tackles in college, 22 went for a loss and 19.0 were sacks. He's an explosive athlete (91st percentile vertical jump, 81st percentile board jump), so with professional coaching, some of his raw skills could translate to more on-field production.
