Carlson was the lone scorer for the Capitals in Friday's 3-1 Game 3 loss to the Rangers. Carlson opened the scoring with a fluttering shot that eluded Igor Shesterkin, but the lead was short-lived as the Blueshirts countered with two goals of their own in the first period, followed by a power-play insurance tally in the second frame. The venerable defenseman is up to 20 goals and 75 total points through 126 career playoff games, but being down 3-0 in the series, the Capitals need goals any way they can get them.

Carlson scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 4-2 victory over Tampa Bay. He scored on a high wrist shot from the right circle on a third-period power play to push the Capitalss ahead 3-2. Carlson's 150th NHL goal moved him past Kevin Hatcher for the most goals by a defender in franchise history. Carlson has nine markers and 51 points in 80 games this season. He's tied with Shayne Gostisbehere for 15th among NHL blueliners in scoring.

Carlson notched two assists in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres. It's only the veteran blueliner's second multi-point performance in the last 17 games, although his production's been steady with three goals and 12 points over that stretch. Carlson has reached 50 points on the season for the sixth time in his career, but his point-per-game pace of 0.63 is his lowest since 2016-17.

Carlson recorded a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins. Carlson tied up the contest on the power play late in the third period for his eighth marker of the year. He finished with three hits, one shot on goal, a blocked shot and a minus-2 rating in a whopping 30:16 of ice time. In his last eight games, Carlson has three goals and five assists to add to his 23 shots on net. While his point totals are a bit lower than expected this season, Carlson is still a consistent fantasy producer for managers.

Carlson logged an assist and five shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Canucks. Carlson is up to a goal and four assists over eight outings in March. The 34-year-old defenseman has 39 points, 131 shots on net, 152 blocked shots, 51 hits and a minus-1 rating through 66 contests overall. Carlson continues to see heavy usage on the top pairing and first power-play unit, but the Capitals' low-scoring tendencies in 2023-24 have put a damper on his contributions.
