Hedman logged two power-play assists, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Wild. Hedman helped out on tallies by Brayden Point and Jake Guentzel. After going without a point during the Lightning's most recent homestand, Hedman has found his offense on the road with three assists over the last two games. All but one of his 11 points this season have come away from Amalie Arena, though that should eventually even out. The 33-year-old defenseman has added 33 shots on net, 23 blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-4 rating through 11 contests overall.

Hedman scored twice Tuesday in an 8-5 win over the Devils. Hedman's goals book-ended Brandon Hagel's natural hat trick in the second. He tied the game 2-2 at 7:34 of the second period on a wrist shot from low in the left circle. Hedman then scored his second of the game on a slap shot from the point to push the score to 6-2. It stood as the winner. He's already at eight points (two goals, six helpers), and he's on track to equal the kind of near point-per-game output he delivered in 2023-24 and 2022-23.

Hedman dished out two assists, including one on the power play, in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs. Hedman has yet to find the back of the net this season, but he remains heavily involved in the Lightning's offensive scheme and currently leads the team with six assists, ranking second in the league in that category among defensemen. Goals should come sooner rather than later for Hedman, though, as he's also averaging 3.0 shots per game.

Hedman notched three assists, including two on the power play, and two shots on goal in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes. Hedman is an elite defenseman in the NHL, and he delivered an impressive outing in Tampa Bay's season opener. He was involved directly in three of the team's goals, including two in the power play. Hedman has notched at least 60 assists in two of the last three seasons. He should remain one of the most productive blueliners in the NHL as long as he remains healthy, thanks to his integral roles on one of the top-scoring rosters in the league.

Hedman agreed to terms on a four-year, $32 million contract extension with Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Hedman has one year remaining on his current deal, which means he is tied to the Lightning through the 2028-29 campaign. There's no doubt the Bolts' front office will hope this softens the blow with the fan base after Steven Stamkos was allowed to depart in free agency Monday. The 33-year-old Hedman is coming off a bounce-back year in which he topped the 75-point threshold for just the second time in his career. Heading into the 2024-25 campaign, Hedman figures to remain among the elite defensemen in the NHL, providing top-end fantasy value as the No. 1 power-play quarterback.
