Ekman-Larsson posted an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers. Ekman-Larsson's hot October is a distant memory -- his helper Saturday ended an eight-game point drought. While he's no longer on the top pairing at even strength, he's still seeing significant usage and power-play time. The veteran defenseman is up to seven points, 38 shots on net, 31 hits, 20 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 19 appearances. Ekman-Larsson's talent as an offensive blueliner and a strong supporting cast should keep him in the mix for fantasy consideration.

Ekman-Larsson scored a goal in a 5-1 loss to the Blues on Thursday. It was Ekman-Larsson's first goal of the season. He crushed the puck from the top of the circle, and it hit a Blues player and deflected past Jordan Binnington. Ekman-Larsson is off to a strong start in Toronto with one goal and four assists, 22 shots, 15 hits and seven blocks. He has even seen some time on the first power-play unit as the Leafs try to figure out how to inject some life in that struggling group. Ekman-Larsson is a solid depth defender in shallow leagues.

Ekman-Larsson picked up an assist in a 4-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. OEL already has four assists and 17 shots in five outings in blue and white. He won't continue this pace, but given the firepower around him, Ekman-Larsson could deliver his first 40-plus point season since 2018-19 with Arizona.

Ekman-Larsson posted two assists, four shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Kings. Ekman-Larsson helped out on the Maple Leafs' second and third goals in the first period. While both of those helpers were at even strength, Ekman-Larsson's fantasy value has received a boost with him playing on the top power-play unit. He's at three helpers, 15 shots on net, five hits, five blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-3 rating over four contests this season, but he could be in line for a big year if he continues to get significant minutes with the man advantage.

Ekman-Larsson has been paired with Jake McCabe this preseason. The duo appear to have early chemistry. Ekman-Larsson, who became the eighth defender in NHL history to win his first Stanley Cup title after playing at least 980 games, brings impressive hockey sense, skating and skill to the Leafs' blue line. Last year, he performed on the Panthers' second power-play unit, putting up 11 of his 32 points on the man advantage. He might be deployed in that role in Toronto, which could make reaching the 40-point plateau a real possibility.
