  • Binnington stopped 11 of 14 shots after replacing Joel Hofer midway through the second period of Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Senators. The St. Louis defense struggled mightily Tuesday, leaving both goalies high and dry. Binnington has had a bumpy beginning to the season, posting a 2-4-0 record in seven outings with a 3.12 GAA and .895 save percentage, but he doesn't appear to be in any danger of losing his grip on the top job in the Blues' crease at this point.

  • Binnington stopped 21 of 25 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Binnington, coming off his best effort of the season in a 5-1 win over Toronto on Thursday, didn't get great support in front of him Saturday. He has lost four of his last five outings to drop his record to 2-4-0 with a 2.86 GAA and a .903 save percentage. The Blues have two days off before continuing a four-game road trip in Ottawa on Tuesday.

  • Binnington made 40 saves in a 5-1 win over Toronto on Thursday. Binnington played a strong game against the Leafs, who are now coached by former Blues coach Craig Berube. Berube wasn't impressed with his new team after the game, but that doesn't change the fact that Binnington looked like the best player on the ice. Binnington is 2-3-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .914 save percentage in five starts this season, and he will be the lynchpin for the Blues as they scrape for a playoff spot.
