• Kings' Pheonix Copley: Re-signs Monday

  Copley (knee) signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Kings on Monday. Copley had a 4-1-2 record, 3.17 GAA and .870 save percentage in eight appearances with LA in 2023-24. He underwent ACL surgery in January and missed the remainder of the season and the playoffs as a result. Copley is likely to be ready for the start of training camp and will probably begin 2024-25 in the minors while Darcy Kuemper and David Rittich handle the NHL goaltending duties.

  Per John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, Copley (knee) underwent successful ACL surgery earlier in the week and will be lost for the season. Copley was injured three weeks ago during practice and was replaced on the roster by David Rittich. Copley was 4-1-2 with a 3.16 GAA and an .870 save percentage, losing his No. 1 job to Cam Talbot early in the season. Copley was outstanding last season, going 24-6-3 with a 2.64 GAA and a .903 save percentage, leading the Kings into the playoffs after Jonathan Quick was unable to hold down the top job. Copley is expected to be ready for the start of training camp and will be looking for a new contract as he is slated to be a UFA at the end of the season.

  Copley (undisclosed) didn't travel with the Kings to Seattle and will consequently miss Saturday's road game against the Kraken, Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider reports. Copley sustained the injury during Friday's practice. He has a 4-1-2 record, 3.17 GAA and .870 save percentage in eight contests this season. David Rittich was summoned from AHL Ontario on Friday and is projected to back up Cam Talbot on Saturday, though LA's starter hasn't been confirmed. There's no timetable for Copley's return, but given that he isn't traveling with the team, he will likely also miss Tuesday's game in San Jose. The Kings will then return home to host the Kraken on Wednesday.

• Kings' Pheonix Copley: Hangs on for OT win

  Copley made 26 saves in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. The Kings were staring at a 3-0 deficit through two periods, but Copley came up with a couple big stops in the third as his team rallied. The 31-year-old has yet to take a regulation loss this season, going 4-0-2 despite a 3.03 GAA and .873 save percentage, but his recent play has been much better -- Copley has a .918 save percentage in four starts since the beginning of November, and he's beginning to cut into Cam Talbot's playing time as a result.

Copley remains undefeated in regulation this season, posting a 3-0-2 record with a 3.04 GAA, .868 save percentage and one shutout in six appearances. Despite putting up 24 wins in 37 games last year, the Alaskan netminder is struggling to secure regular starts and finds himself firmly cemented in the No. 2 role behind Cam Talbot.
