Geekie had a goal and an assist in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday. It was the first two-point NHL game of his young career. Geekie found twine on the power play mid-way through the third to knot the game 6-6. He has points in back-to-back games (one goal, two assists). Geekie has six points, including three goals, 23 shots, 23 hits, eight blocks, one power-play goal and one game-winning goal in 18 games thus far. Geekie logged an assist and three hits in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Penguins. Geekie snapped a six-game slump with the secondary helper on Brayden Point's overtime tally. The 20-year-old Geekie is doing well to hold onto a middle-six role as a rookie. The offense is yet to come though -- he has four points, 20 shots on net, 21 hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating over 17 appearances. Dynasty managers will want to hold onto the promising forward, but he doesn't need to be on the radar in redraft leagues.

Geekie scored his first NHL goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Capitals. After dominating the preseason, Geekie has found the regular season a lot harder to handle. He has one goal, one assist, six shots and seven hits through eight outings. Geekie has always had great hands and showed off his quick release on a one-timer from the high slot for his first NHL goal in Saturday's contest. He's the Bolts' top young player, and his future is in the top six.

Geekie logged an assist and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Devils. It took Geekie six games to earn his first career point, which was a primary helper on the second of Brandon Hagel's three goals in the second period. Geekie has added three shots on net, six hits, four PIM and an even plus-minus rating so far. The 20-year-old forward has held down a middle-six role, and while dynasty managers will want to hold onto him, he's yet to do enough to be a factor in redraft formats.

Geekie saw a bigger role as the right wing on the third line while also working with the second power-play unit during Sunday's practice session, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Geekie said Sunday that he hasn't yet been told whether he has made Tampa Bay's Opening Night roster, but he seems to be trending toward beginning the year with the Lightning following a solid camp. Coach Jon Cooper said that Geekie hasn't given the team any excuses to send him down, and the young forward impressed over the past few weeks. Geekie was suspended for Friday's preseason game against Carolina but will be available for the start of the regular season.
