  • Nic Dowd C | LV

Capitals' Nic Dowd: Notches three points

Dowd registered a goal, two assists, three hits and a plus-2 rating during Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Panthers.

Dowd's helpers opened and closed the scoring for Washington, with his second assist getting Alex Ovechkin to within 17 goals of the all-time record. The 34-year-old Dowd has chipped in a goal and seven points in 16 games since the calendar rolled into 2025.

  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Tallies two points

Protas registered an empty-net goal, a shorthanded assist and a plus-2 rating during Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Panthers.

Protas jump-started a two-on-one while shorthanded that Tom Wilson ended up one-timing past Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to give the Capitals the lead early in the second period. The hulking Belarusian has been heating up with four goals and nine points over his last eight games and continues to add to a breakout 2024-25 campaign.

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Notches two points

Bennett tallied a goal, an assist, a minus-1 rating and six shots during Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Capitals.

Bennett got the Panthers on the board with 30 seconds left in the first period. The 28-year-old has been running cold since the calendar rolled into 2025, with just four goals and six points in his last 17 games, though Bennett maintains decent category coverage with 172 shots and 116 hits in 53 games this season. He already has one more shot on goal than he totaled in 69 regular-season appearances last season.

  • Nick Paul C | TB

Lightning's Nick Paul: Can't finish contest

Paul (undisclosed) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Senators.

Paul was hurt in the first period and was unable to return. He logged just 1:17 of ice time in the contest. If he can't play Thursday in a rematch against the Senators, the Lightning will likely be forced to make a roster move for an extra forward.

  • Shane Pinto C | OTT

Senators' Shane Pinto: Exits with upper-body injury

Pinto (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Lightning.

Pinto was injured in the first period. The Senators are already missing Josh Norris (undisclosed) on a week-to-week basis, and any absence for Pinto would really test the team's center depth.

  • Owen Beck C | MON

Canadiens' Owen Beck: Back with big club

Beck was recalled from AHL Laval on Tuesday.

Beck's demotion allowed him to participate in the AHL All-Star Classic on Monday. He'll be with the Canadiens in time for the back-to-back versus the Sharks on Tuesday and the Kings on Wednesday.

  • Oilers' Adam Henrique: Not playing Tuesday

Henrique (undisclosed) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Blues, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

  • Golden Knights' Raphael Lavoie: Sitting out due to illness

Lavoie (illness) won't play Tuesday versus the Islanders, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Lavoie has not recorded a point but has four shots on net and seven hits over three NHL appearances this season. The Golden Knights are also missing Tanner Pearson (undisclosed) for this contest, forcing the team to go with seven defensemen -- Kaedan Korczak will check into the lineup.

Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Lands on IR

Edstrom (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.

Edstrom is expected to miss the rest of the regular season -- his official timeline is two and a half to three and a half months. The 24-year-old's placement on injured reserve opens a roster spot for the Rangers should they need to call up a player in the future.
