  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Goals in back-to-back games

Point netted an even-strength goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.

Point opened the scoring just 2:02 into Saturday's contest. The star center has scored in back-to-back games after being scratched Tuesday against the Bruins for missing a team meeting. The 28-year-old has gotten on the scoresheet in six of nine games in January, but he hasn't produced a multi-point outing since Dec. 28 against the Rangers. For the season, Point has 27 goals, 49 points (20 on the power play), 91 shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-7 rating. His 29.7 shooting percentage is easily the highest mark of his career, so he could be due for negative regression in that area over the second half. Then again, Point is insulated by an assortment of elite talent in Tampa Bay.

  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Two power-play points in win

Duchene scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche.

Duchene's consistency has dipped recently -- he has five points over his last six games despite getting on the scoresheet in just two of those contests. He tends to play well against the team that drafted him, earning 20 points over 18 career games against the Avalanche. The 34-year-old center has had a strong 2024-25 with 18 goals, 25 assists, 81 shots on net, 14 power-play points and a plus-8 rating through 45 appearances.

  • Flyers' Sean Couturier: Manages assist in win

Couturier logged an assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Devils.

Couturier has three points over his last two games. The 32-year-old center has been stuck in a bottom-six role for a couple of weeks, but his 14:38 of ice time Saturday was his most over nine contests in January. He's at 23 points, 78 shots on net, 31 hits, 28 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 45 appearances this season. Couturier will be tough to trust in fantasy until he returns to top-six usage.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Three points in victory

Guentzel produced a power-play goal and two helpers, one on the man advantage, in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.

Guentzel recorded his second three-point effort of 2024-25 in Saturday's win, as all of his production came in a lopsided second period in which Tampa Bay found the back of the net four times. The left-shot winger has a goal in back-to-back wins after going five games without a tally. He's delivered six points over his last four outings. The 30-year-old has done his part in attempting to replicate the production lost by Steven Stamkos, who is in his first season with Nashville. Guentzel is up to 23 goals, 46 points (15 on the power play), 14 PIM, 111 shots on goal and a plus-8 rating through 43 appearances in his first campaign as a Bolt.

  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Posts power-play helper in loss

Nugent-Hopkins notched a power-play assist, two PIM and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.

Nugent-Hopkins has earned four goals and three assists over nine outings in a productive January. The 31-year-old set up the second of Leon Draisaitl's tallies in Saturday's contest. Nugent-Hopkins is up to 27 points (12 on the power play), 91 shots on net, 28 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 45 appearances this season. Nugent-Hopkins could shift to center if Connor McDavid lands a suspension following a match penalty at the end of Saturday's game.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Could face supplemental discipline

McDavid received a match penalty for cross-checking Conor Garland at the end of Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.

A match penalty requires an automatic review for supplemental discipline by the league. McDavid was likely already lucky to avoid a fine or suspension earlier in the week when he elbowed Marcus Johansson of the Wild in Wednesday's contest. However, the Edmonton captain may not be as fortunate this time around. McDavid has racked up five goals and six assists over his last seven appearances after picking up a power-play helper Saturday. If there's a suspension, Leon Draisaitl would likely take over on the top line, while other forwards would pick up a little extra ice time to cover the absence.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Scores both goals in loss

Draisaitl scored two goals and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.

Draisaitl got the Oilers on the board with a tight-angle shot on a loose puck and then added a power-play tally, with both goals coming in the second period. The 29-year-old has four goals and six assists during his six-game point streak. He continues to lead the NHL with 33 goals. Draisaitl has 69 points (18 on the power play), 145 shots on net and a plus-28 rating through 46 appearances this season. Draisaitl could be leaned on heavily if Connor McDavid faces any supplemental discipline after receiving a match penalty at the end of Saturday's contest.

  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

Canucks' J.T. Miller: Pair of power-play assists in win

Miller recorded two power-play assists, logged two PIM and won 18 of 23 faceoffs in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.

This performance ended a five-game point drought for Miller. There was some doubt as to whether the 31-year-old would suit up Saturday -- Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reported earlier in the day that trade talk involving Miller has ramped up, though the forward has yet to be asked to waive his no-movement clause. Miller has eight goals, 23 assists, 68 shots on net, 78 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 35 appearances. The Canucks' middling season has had an impact on Miller's production, and he could benefit from a change of scenery if a good trade fit arrives.

  • Danton Heinen LW | CLB

Canucks' Danton Heinen: Deposits goal in win

Heinen scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.

Heinen snapped droughts Saturday -- he had been held off the scoresheet in the last seven games and hadn't scored over his last 13 appearances. The 29-year-old got a look on the third line, and he's often been limited to bottom-six duties this season. Heinen has six goals, 17 points, 39 shots on net, 47 hits, 31 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 45 outings.

  • Kings' Phillip Danault: Hands out helper

Danault logged an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.

Danault ended a four-game point drought when he set up a Jordan Spence tally in the first period. The 31-year-old Danault had earned an assist in six straight contests prior to his recent slump. The center is at 22 points, 66 shots on net, 40 hits, 37 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 42 appearances. He remains in a middle-six role and offers enough offense to be a decent depth option in fantasy.
