Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Point streak reaches five games
Nugent-Hopkins scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Penguins.
Nugent-Hopkins found the twine with his lone shot on goal, giving him 11 on the year while also extending his current point streak to five games. During that stretch, the 31-year-old winger has racked up four goals, one assist, 11 shots on goal and two blocked shots.

Connor Zary C | CGY
Flames' Connor Zary: Placed on injured reserve
Zary (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Zary was injured Tuesday when he collided knee-on-knee with Anaheim's Drew Helleson in the middle stanza. Zary is having a nice sophomore season in the NHL, tallying 10 goals and adding 12 assists in 40 games. He has been a force on the power play with one goal and eight assists while averaging 2:21 of ice time.

Jack Hughes C | NJ
Devils' Jack Hughes: Two-point effort at MSG
Hughes produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.
Both points came in the second period as the Devils grabbed a 2-1 lead, but the New Jersey offense couldn't solve Igor Shesterkin the rest of the way. Hughes has gotten onto the scoresheet in three straight games, and over 17 contests since the beginning of December, he's piled up seven goals and 20 points.

Ryan McLeod C | BUF
Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Three-point effort Thursday
McLeod scored a goal and added two assists in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
After helping to set up Jack Quinn for a pair of first-period tallies, McLeod wrapped up the scoring with a fluky goal midway through the second period -- he fired a pass toward a streaking Zach Benson, only for the puck to deflect off Thomas Chabot's leg and go top shelf over Anton Forsberg. It was McLeod's first multi-point performance since Dec. 9, and the 25-year-old center snapped a 23-game goal drought in the process. On the season he's collected seven goals and 21 points in 42 appearances, putting him on pace to top the career-best 30 points he produced in 2023-24.

Ridly Greig C | OTT
Senators' Ridly Greig: Inks four-year extension
Greig agreed to terms on a four-year, $13 million contract extension with Ottawa on Friday.
Greig was scheduled to be one of 12 restricted free agents for the Senators this offseason but instead has committed to the team on an extended bridge deal that will keep him under contract through 2028-29. The 22-year-old forward will probably never be an offensive powerhouse, but he should provide between 20-30 points annually, making him a solid depth scoring option.

Owen Sillinger C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Owen Sillinger: Demoted to AHL
Sillinger was returned to AHL Cleveland on Friday.
Sillinger was recalled Thursday to take the place of Sean Monahan, who was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury. Sillinger made his NHL debut against Seattle and played 13:09 with one hit and one blocked shot in a 6-2 loss.

Zack MacEwen RW | NJ
Senators' Zack MacEwen: Back in NHL
MacEwen was recalled from AHL Belleville on Friday.
MacEwen had five goals, four assists and 21 PIM across 14 AHL games after he was sent to the minors Nov. 25. The 28-year-old started the season with the Senators, tallying twice while adding one assist. He is expected to enter the lineup in place of the injured Noah Gregor (lower body) who was hurt Thursday against the Sabres.

Matthew Highmore C | NYI
Senators' Matthew Highmore: Elevated from minors
Highmore was recalled from AHL Belleville on Friday.
Highmore has yet to get into an NHL game this season but could be pressed into service against either Pittsburgh or Dallas on Saturday or Sunday, respectively, after Noah Gregor (lower body) sustained a long-term injury. Still, the team also brought up Zack MacEwen, so the duo will likely be competing for one roster spot unless another injury pops up.

Max Domi C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Deals helper in loss
Domi notched an assist in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Domi's offense has slowed down again, which is likely a product of a drop in ice time since Auston Matthews returned from injury four games ago. Over the last 10 contests, Domi has put up four helpers, 15 shots on net and a minus-2 rating in a middle-six role. The 29-year-old center is at 15 points, 49 shots on net, 32 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 35 outings overall.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Pots empty-netter
Jarvis scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
Jarvis continues to hum along on offense with four goals and eight assists over his last 11 contests. The 22-year-old winger put the bow on Thursday's win for the Hurricanes. Jarvis is up to 12 goals, 30 points, 92 shots on net, 54 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 35 appearances. He remains on pace to reach the 60-point mark for the second year in a row, but he may fall short of matching his 33-goal, 67-point effort from the 2023-24 regular season.
