  • Jared McCann C | SEA

Kraken's Jared McCann: Logs assist in Monday's loss

McCann notched a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

McCann helped out on Shane Wright's tally early in the third period. The helper was McCann's first point over three outings in January, which isn't a great sign after he was limited to five points in 13 games in December. The 28-year-old is usually one of the Kraken's most reliable forwards, but the whole team has struggled with consistency on offense lately. McCann is at 13 goals, 16 assists, six power-play points, 103 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 41 appearances in a top-six role.

  • Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Gets back in goal column

Verhaeghe scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Avalanche.

The tally ended an eight-game goal drought for Verhaeghe, who added three assists and 15 shots on net in that span. The 29-year-old forward has played on the third line recently amid the slump, though he saw 20:25 of ice time Monday, so he could be trending up again. For the season, he has 10 goals, 29 points, 120 shots on net, 59 hits, 26 PIM and a minus-22 rating over 41 appearances.

  • Tommy Novak C | PIT

Predators' Thomas Novak: Projected to play in Winnipeg

Head coach Andrew Brunette said that he expects Novak (upper body) will be able to play in Tuesday's road matchup against the Jets, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Novak missed back-to-back games in Vancouver and Calgary due to his injury. The left-shot center will most likely fill a bottom-six role against the Jets on Tuesday. The 27-year-old has contributed five goals and four helpers over 31 appearances this season.

  • Avalanche's Juuso Parssinen: First point with new club

Parssinen logged an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 3-1 win over the Panthers.

The helper was Parssinen's first point in four games since he was acquired by the Avalanche in a trade with the Predators. The good news is that Colorado is playing Parssinen, but it's come with a trade-off of minimal ice time in a fourth-line role compared to the middle-six minutes he often saw in Nashville's lineup. The 23-year-old has six points, 13 shots on net, 32 hits and a minus-7 rating over 19 contests this season, so he's unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy.

  • Avalanche's Casey Mittelstadt: Contributes helper Monday

Mittelstadt logged an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Monday's 3-1 win over the Panthers.

Mittelstadt set up Devon Toews for the game-tying goal late in the second period. As expected, Valeri Nichushkin's lower-body injury has opened the door for Mittelstadt to get back in a second-line role, though the 26-year-old center has helped his own cause with three points over his last four games. He's at 26 points, 57 shots on net and a minus-14 rating over 41 appearances this season. Mittelstadt can still run hot and cold on offense, and with a lack of non-scoring production, he's tough to roster in some fantasy formats.

  • Kirby Dach C | MON

Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Strikes on power play

Dach scored a power-play goal on two shots in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canucks.

Dach remains on sizzle since the holiday break -- he has four goals and an assist over his last six games. Two of those points have come on the power play, which corresponds with his move to the top unit. The 23-year-old is also on the second line at even strength. Dach has six goals, 14 points, 64 shots on net, 65 hits, 28 PIM, 26 blocked shots and a minus-23 rating over 40 appearances this season, but he's trending in the right direction now.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Nets power-play goal

Thompson scored a power-play goal on six shots, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Capitals.

Thompson buried a one-timer off a pass from Rasmus Dahlin in the second period. Over the last seven games, Thompson has three goals and six assists, with five of those nine points coming on the power play. The 27-year-old has been lining up at right wing lately rather than center, giving Dylan Cozens a chance in a top-line role. Thompson has 19 goals, 15 assists, 10 power-play points, 107 shots on net, 36 hits and a plus-1 rating over 36 appearances this season.

  • Ozzy Wiesblatt RW | NSH

Predators' Ozzy Wiesblatt: Dropped to minors

Wiesblatt was assigned to AHL Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Wiesblatt played in Nashville's last two games, posting one blocked shot and four hits. The return of Wiesblatt to the minors could bode well for the availability of Thomas Novak (upper body) ahead of Tuesday's matchup against Winnipeg.

  • Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Expected to play

Gaudreau (illness) is slated to play in Tuesday's game against St. Louis, according to Joe Smith of The Athletic.

Gaudreau won't miss any playing time despite leaving Monday's practice early due to an illness. He has collected seven goals, 16 points, 60 shots on net and 21 blocked shots across 40 appearances this season.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Three points including OT winner

Suzuki scored the overtime winner on the power play and added two assists, one with the man advantage, in Monday's 5-4 victory over the Canucks.

The 25-year-old center extended his point streak to four games with the performance, while the tally snapped a 10-game goal drought. Suzuki is on pace for a career-best campaign, delivering 12 goals and 41 points through 40 contests, but there would seem to be room for even more production from the Montreal captain. After erupting for 12 goals and 31 points on the power play in 2023-24, Suzuki has just two goals and 13 points with the man advantage so far this season.
