Lightning's Conor Geekie: Won't play Monday
Geekie has been ruled out for Monday's game against Florida due to an upper-body injury, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.
Geekie crashed into the boards in the second period of Sunday's game against the Panthers but was able to return later in the frame and finish out the matchup. However, he'll be sidelined for the second half of the back-to-back set Monday. The exact nature and severity of the 20-year-old's injury aren't yet clear, but he'll have several days to recover before the Lightning face the Rangers on Saturday.

Jack Hughes C | NJ
Devils' Jack Hughes: Finds net twice in victory
Hughes recorded two goals, including the game-winner, along with an assist in Monday's 5-0 win over the Rangers.
The 23-year-old got the Devils on the board 4:29 into the first period, and that goal stood as the game-winner since New Jersey goalie Jacob Markstrom turned aside all 12 shots he saw. Hughes added a power-play goal midway through the second period. Hughes has been on a roll in the weeks leading up to the NHL's Christmas break, as he's now had multi-point performances in seven of his last 12 appearances. The Orlando native led New Jersey's forwards in ice time during Monday's comfortable win and should continue to be a focal point when the team resumes play Friday against the Hurricanes.

Dawson Mercer C | NJ
Devils' Dawson Mercer: Racks up two points in win
Mercer recorded a power-play goal and a power-play assist during Monday's 5-0 win over the Rangers.
Mercer assisted on the Devils' first of three power-play goals early in the second period of Monday's matchup and recorded the team's final tally of the game in the third period, which also came with the man advantage. Although the 23-year-old helped to capitalize on the Devils' power-play opportunities Monday, he's gotten on the scoresheet in just two of the last nine games. Across 37 appearances this year, Mercer has logged eight goals, 10 assists, 26 blocked shots and 18 hits while averaging 18:03 of ice time.

Jansen Harkins C | ANA
Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Nabs assist Sunday
Harkins provided an assist and two hits in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over Utah.
Harkins has just two helpers to go with 26 hits and eight PIM over 10 games in December, but it's encouraging he's been a steady part of the lineup. He's been a fixture on the fourth line in that time and has little chance of being promoted to a more scoring-friendly spot. The 27-year-old has three assists, 52 hits, 14 blocked shots, 12 PIM and 11 shots on net through 19 outings overall.

Mason McTavish C | ANA
Ducks' Mason McTavish: Sends assist in shootout win
McTavish recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over Utah.
McTavish set up a Robby Fabbri goal in the first period. In the shootout, McTavish's tally was the one that gave the Ducks the win. The 21-year-old center has been alright on offense with four points over 10 outings in December, though he's mostly played in a bottom-six role. He could move up if Leo Carlsson (undisclosed) misses time after exiting Sunday's game early. McTavish is at 13 points, 45 shots on net, 23 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 26 appearances this season.

Isac Lundestrom C | CLB
Ducks' Isac Lundestrom: Scores in shootout win
Lundestrom scored a goal and blocked two shots in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over Utah.
Lundestrom set the Ducks on the comeback trail with his tally midway through the second period. The 25-year-old had gone 10 games without a point prior to Sunday, though he's maintained steady usage in a bottom-six role as a defensive center. For the season, he has four goals, two assists, 30 shots on net, 20 hits, 32 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 30 appearances.

Anton Lundell C | FLA
Panthers' Anton Lundell: Earns assist in Sunday's win
Lundell provided an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Lightning.
Lundell continues to chip in offense -- he has four helpers and a plus-6 rating over his last four games. The 23-year-old has gone 11 games without a goal, and while the Panthers' top-six forwards are all healthy again after some players missed time due to an illness, Lundell has maintained a second-line role. For the season, he has eight goals, 15 helpers, 68 shots on net, 49 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 34 appearances.

Leo Carlsson C | ANA
Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Dealing with unspecified injury
Carlsson is dealing with an unspecified injury, and his status for Monday's game against the Golden Knights is unclear, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Carlsson exited Sunday's win over Utah after going hard into the boards, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up in the second half of the back-to-back set. Lee notes that the expectation is that Carlsson won't play Monday, which would likely lead to Ross Johnston entering the lineup for the Ducks' final game before the NHL's Christmas break.

Brayden Point C | TB
Lightning's Brayden Point: Point streak reaches eight games
Point scored a goal and took two shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers.
Point has been on fire of late and his third-period goal pushed his impressive streak to eight games, a span in which he's racked up six goals and 12 assists while posting a plus-five rating. He's likely to regress at some point, though, as his 28.6 shooting percentage during the streak isn't sustainable, but there's no question the 28-year-old is going through a sizzling stretch in December. Over the course of the full season, Point has racked up 39 points (22 goals, 17 helpers) in 27 games, and he could reach the 90-point plateau for a third straight campaign if he keeps up this level of production for a few more weeks.

Nick Paul C | TB
Lightning's Nick Paul: Scores in loss to Florida
Paul scored a goal and took three shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers.
Paul missed six games in November due to an undisclosed injury but has been putting up decent numbers since his return, tallying three goals and five total points in eight appearances in December. The 29-year-old is up to eight goals this season, though his chances to keep producing won't be very high since he remains rooted in a bottom-six role.
