  • Matt Rempe C | NYR

Rangers' Matt Rempe: Offered in-person hearing

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced Saturday that Rempe has been offered an in-person hearing for elbowing/boarding the Stars' Miro Heiskanen on Friday.

An in-person hearing allows the NHL to suspend Rempe for six games or more. Rempe picked up a minor for roughing, a five-minute major for elbowing and a game misconduct at the 7:13 mark of the third period in Friday's matchup. Rempe has 24 PIM in five NHL appearances this season. He will be ineligible to play against Carolina on Sunday even if a suspension isn't announced before the game.

  • Stars' Justin Hryckowian: Returned to Texas

Hryckowian was reassigned to AHL Texas on Saturday.

Hryckowian has been a healthy scratch in three NHL games during his call-ups with Dallas and hasn't made his NHL debut yet. He has nine goals and 23 points in 25 AHL outings this season.

  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Tallies in loss

Carlsson scored a goal and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche.

The goal was Carlsson's first point in five games since he returned from an upper-body injury. He saw 17:11 of ice time Friday, his highest total in that span -- he's been on the second line lately compared to his first-line role before the injury. Carlsson is at seven goals, five assists, 33 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 25 appearances. The 19-year-old has plenty of upside in long-term formats, but his fantasy value isn't particularly strong in redraft leagues right now.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Three more points in win

MacKinnon scored an empty-net goal on three shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

MacKinnon reached the 40-assist mark on Valeri Nichushkin's tally in the second period. In the third, MacKinnon set up a Cale Makar power-play goal before adding an empty-netter on his own. MacKinnon has multiple points in four of the last six games, racking up five goals and nine assists in that span. He's up to 14 tallies, a league-leading 55 points (17 on the power play), 136 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 35 contests this season.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Earns two points in win

Trocheck scored a goal on five shots, dished an assist, went plus-3, added five hits and blocked three shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Stars.

Trocheck did a bit of everything to grind out a win for the Rangers. His first-period tally stood as the game-winner, and he also assisted on Chris Kreider's empty-netter in the third. Trocheck had gone three contests without a point prior to Friday, though he has three goals and five assists over nine outings in December. For the season, the veteran center is at 20 points, 83 shots on net, 110 hits, 28 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 32 appearances.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Scores Carolina's lone goal Friday

Jarvis netted a goal on three shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to Washington.

Jarvis snapped Charlie Lindgren's shutout bid at 10:22 of the final frame. The goal was Jarvis' first tally since Dec. 5. Jarvis has become a dependable player at 22 years old -- the right-shot winger's average ice time has increased in each of his first four NHL campaigns. The Manitoba native is occupying a top-line role in addition to a spot on the No. 1 power-play unit, and he ranks fifth on the Hurricanes in points with nine goals and 11 helpers through 25 contests.

  • Capitals' Hendrix Lapierre: Nabs assist on home ice

Lapierre recorded an even-strength assist in Friday's 3-1 win over Carolina.

Lapierre generated the primary assist on Jakub Vrana's second-period marker to put Washington up 2-0. The helper snapped a six-game point slump for Lapierre, but he's yet to find the back of the net this season. The 22-year-old's 6:04 of ice time was a team-low, so he'll need to work on gaining the trust of head coach Spencer Carberry in order to carve out a larger role. Lapierre has logged seven helpers, four PIM, 17 shots, 12 blocks, nine hits and a minus-4 rating through 25 appearances.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Wild's Marco Rossi: Sends helper in loss

Rossi produced an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to Utah.

Rossi has five goals and three assists over nine outings in December. He helped out on a Mats Zuccarello goal in Friday's contest. Rossi has done best when he centers the first line this year, and that's where he's been for the majority of this month. The 23-year-old is up to 27 points, 57 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-12 rating through 33 appearances. He is well on his way to surpassing the 40-point effort he put together in 2023-24, which was his first full NHL campaign.

  • Jack McBain C | UTA

Hockey Club's Jack McBain: Posts helper in win

McBain notched an assist and three hits in Friday's 2-1 win over the Wild.

McBain snapped a four-game point drought when he set up Dylan Guenther's first-period tally. This point was likely a little sweeter for McBain, who heard some boos from the Minnesota crowd Friday -- he was a third-round pick of the Wild in 2018, but opted to not sign with the team after exhausting his college eligibility. He's carved out a decent role for himself in Utah this year, racking up 14 points, 28 shots on net, 43 PIM, 101 hits, 19 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating over 32 appearances. That level of physical play could earn him some interest in deeper fantasy formats as long as he remains in a second-line role.

  • Capitals' Connor McMichael: Snaps five-game goal drought Friday

McMichael potted a goal on four shots and added one block, two takeaways and a plus-1 rating in 19:14 of ice time Friday in a 3-1 win over Carolina.

McMichael scored his team-leading 16th goal of the season late in the middle frame to give Washington a 3-0 lead. The 23-year-old has cooled after racking up 24 points over the first two months of the campaign, as he's provided just two goals and two helpers through eight games in December. Even though his production has decreased, the Ontario native ranks second on the Capitals in scoring with 16 goals and 28 points through 32 appearances.
