  • Yakov Trenin C | MIN

    Wild's Yakov Trenin: Unavailable Wednesday

Trenin (upper body) won't play Wednesday versus Florida, per Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

It will be Minnesota's third straight game without Trenin. He has two goals, three points, 14 PIM and 82 hits in 27 appearances in 2024-25. Brendan Gaunce, who was recalled from AHL Iowa on Monday, is set to make his Minnesota debut.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Pots goal in overtime win

Malkin scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.

Malkin's goal tied the game at 1-1 in the second period. He's been okay in December, posting four points, nine shots on net and a minus-1 rating. It's a little disappointing that he's not more involved with the Penguins scoring four goals per game so far this month. Malkin has a total of seven tallies, 19 assists, 65 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 33 appearances this season.

  • Sean Kuraly C | BOS

Blue Jackets' Sean Kuraly: Snags assist in loss

Kuraly provided an assist and six hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Kuraly has three points over 10 games in December, matching his point total from November. The 31-year-old remains firmly in a fourth-line role, giving him limited fantasy value. He has produced eight points, 29 shots on net, 79 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 32 appearances, putting him on pace to finish around the 20-point mark.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Scores, defends teammate in loss

Sillinger scored a goal on two shots, added 17 PIM and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Sillinger stepped up and fought Conor Geekie after the Lightning rookie took out Dante Fabbro (lower body) with a knee-on-knee hit. After serving his penalties, Sillinger brought the Blue Jackets within a goal in the third period, though the comeback fell short. The 21-year-old has two goals, 12 shots and a minus-7 rating over his last four games while bouncing between the second and third lines. For the season, he's up to six goals, 20 points, 76 shots on net, 41 hits, 29 PIM and a minus-10 rating. Sillinger can play with an edge, but he typically does better in hits rather than PIM.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Pots goal in loss

Fantilli scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

The goal ended his droughts -- he'd gone nine games without scoring and six contests without a point prior to Tuesday. Fantilli had previously gone no more than three games without a point. The 20-year-old has been firmly in the middle six this season, racking up six goals, eight helpers, 63 shots on net, 50 hits and a minus-9 rating over 32 appearances. Fantilli has plenty of long-term promise, but that level of scoring for a center has relatively low fantasy value in redraft formats, though he has the talent to pick up the pace.

  • Lightning's Luke Glendening: Opens scoring Tuesday

Glendening scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

Glendening opened the scoring at 3:21 of the first period. He has four points over his last 10 contests, though his offense remains limited in a fourth-line role. Overall, the veteran center is at four points, 20 shots on net, 37 hits, 24 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 29 appearances in a defense-first role.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Deposits empty-netter

Point scored an empty-net goal on three shots and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

For much of the game, it didn't look like the Lightning's top line would need to get involved. The Blue Jackets then scored three times in the third period, and Point answered with the empty-netter, extending his point streak to six games (five goals, 11 assists). The 28-year-old center is cruising at a career-best pace with 21 goals, 16 assists, 59 shots on net and a plus-6 rating over 25 appearances. He's also shooting 35.6 percent, and while he's been over 20 percent in the last two seasons, he could regress a bit as the campaign progresses.

  • Ryan Donato C | CHI

Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Scores goal vs. Washington

Donato scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.

Donato cracked the scoresheet in back-to-back games for the third time this season, and he's done so in three of Chicago's last four contests. However, it's hard to rely on the 28-year-old for consistent production. He has four points (one goal, three assists) in nine December appearances while failing to record a single point five times in that stretch.

  • Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen: Another three-point performance

Teravainen recorded three assists, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.

The 30-year-old winger was a dominant force in Chicago's lineup and made his presence felt in each of the team's three goals. This was his second straight three-point effort, as he notched one goal and two assists in the 5-3 win over the Islanders on Sunday. To put things into perspective, the six points he has over this recent two-game stretch equals the amount he collected on a 25-game stretch between Oct. 19 and Dec. 14. With that in mind, it's not surprising to see that his season-long numbers look low. He's notched just seven goals and 19 points in 32 games while posting a career-worst minus-10 rating.

  • Jordan Kyrou C | STL

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Nets goal vs. New Jersey

Kyrou scared a goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Devils.

Kyrou accounted for all the offense the Blues could muster in Tuesday's defeat. The goal extended his impressive stretch of form, as Kyrou has scored in five consecutive games while riding a six-game point streak. Furthermore, the 26-year-old winger has recorded points in 12 of his last 15 contests dating back to mid-November.
