Michael Amadio C | OTT
Senators' Michael Amadio: Produces two assists
Amadio recorded two assists, three shots on goal, two hits and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 3-0 win over the Hurricanes.
Amadio had a hand in both of linemate Shane Pinto's goals in the contest. That duo, along with Nick Cousins, combined for six points in a game the Senators' third line controlled. Amadio has four helpers over six contests in December, an improvement on the eight-game slump he ended November with. Amadio is at eight points, 39 shots on net, 33 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 29 appearances this season.

Shane Pinto C | OTT
Senators' Shane Pinto: Breaks out of slump
Pinto scored twice on three shots, blocked three shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 3-0 win over the Hurricanes.
Prior to Friday, Pinto had gone 15 straight games without a point, including 14 since he returned from an undisclosed injury that sidelined him in late October and early November. This could be the game that gets the center back on track. He now has three tallies, five points, 34 shots on net, 24 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 21 appearances. Pinto had a 20-goal season in 2022-23 and put up 27 points over just 41 appearances last year, so it's fair to think he can turn things around even if he remains on the third line.

Zack Ostapchuk C | SJ
Senators' Zack Ostapchuk: Expected to play Friday
Ostapchuk (undisclosed) is expected to be in the lineup Friday versus the Hurricanes, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Ostapchuk left Wednesday's game against the Ducks with an apparent injury, but it looks like it won't cost him additional time. The Senators brought up Cole Reinhardt from AHL Belleville anyway, but Ostapchuk is slated to play on the fourth line as usual.

Mattias Janmark C | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Bags apple in Thursday's win
Janmark provided a shorthanded assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Wild.
Janmark set up Connor Brown's shortie in the second period. This was Janmark's second shorthanded point of the season, and he's up to 12 points, 16 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through 29 appearances. He has four assists over his last eight outings to maintain steady depth offense in a third-line role.

Derek Ryan C | EDM
Oilers' Derek Ryan: Pots goal Thursday
Ryan scored a goal in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Wild.
The Oilers got contributions from all over the lineup Thursday, and Ryan chipped in with a goal late in the third period. The 37-year-old center snapped his eight-game point drought in the process. He has one goal, two assists, 17 shots on net, 18 hits, 16 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 27 contests this season. Ryan is firmly locked in on the fourth line, a role that offers almost no upside in Edmonton.

Max Sasson C | VAN
Canucks' Max Sasson: Sent to AHL
Sasson was reassigned to AHL Abbotsford on Friday.
Sasson has four assists in nine appearances with Vancouver in 2024-25. The timing of this demotion is a touch awkward because Sasson registered two assists in the Canucks' 4-0 win over Florida on Thursday. Vancouver also demoted Aatu Raty is a corresponding move, which leaves the Canucks with 11 forwards on their roster. Unless a trade happens, Vancouver will presumably recall Sasson or another forward before Saturday's tilt against the Bruins.

Aatu Raty C | VAN
Canucks' Aatu Raty: Heads to minors
Raty was sent to AHL Abbotsford on Friday.
Raty has two goals and four points in 20 NHL appearances in 2024-25. He was a healthy scratch for Thursday's 4-0 win over Florida, which coincided with J.T. Miller's (personal) return to the lineup. Now that Miller is available, the Canucks don't have any forwards on the shelf, so that might be why Raty was sent down, but it's possible this was a paper transaction. Max Sasson was also sent to the AHL on Friday, which leaves Vancouver with just 11 forwards on its roster. Unless there's a trade, Vancouver will presumably summon a forward before facing Boston on Saturday.

Tommy Novak C | PIT
Predators' Thomas Novak: Finds twine in Thursday's win
Novak scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Stars.
Novak has scored in back-to-back games, though his ice time could be set to drop soon. Ryan O'Reilly returned from a lower-body injury Thursday and looks set to fill a second-line role moving forward, which would leave Novak as the third-line center unless he moves to the wing. The 27-year-old has five goals, one assist, 42 shots on net and 10 blocked shots over 23 appearances this season, so he hasn't done much to earn a larger role despite recording at least 43 points in each of the previous two campaigns.
-
Nico Sturm C | MIN
Sharks' Nico Sturm: Pockets helper in win
Sturm notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Blues.
Sturm snapped a five-game point drought with the helper. The 29-year-old has played on the fourth line over the last nine games since he returned from an upper-body injury. He has nine points, 19 shots on net, 35 hits and 12 blocked shots through 27 outings. Sturm is mostly a defensive forward, and while he's on a better pace than last year (13 points in 63 games), he's unlikely to produce enough offense to help most fantasy managers.

Ryan Donato C | CHI
Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Adds power-play helper
Donato logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.
Donato snapped a four-game slump with the helper. The 28-year-old forward continues to be a factor on the top power-play unit, though he has moved around the lineup at even strength. He's managed to generate 16 points, 68 shots on net, 51 hits and a minus-1 rating through 27 outings this season. Donato is on pace for a career year, so he may have some fantasy value in deeper formats, particularly those that count hits.
