  • Jack Hughes C | NJ

    Devils' Jack Hughes: Unavailable Saturday

Hughes (lower body) won't play against Ottawa on Saturday.

Hughes remains day-to-day and will miss at least one game after tweaking something in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Nashville. He has compiled 12 goals, 36 points and 127 shots on net across 36 appearances this season. Based on Saturday's morning skate, Dawson Mercer is poised to center the top line, but Nico Hischier (illness) could occupy that role if he can play.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Game-time call Saturday

Hischier (illness) will be a game-time decision against Ottawa on Saturday, Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site reports.

Hischier missed Saturday's morning skate. The 27-year-old has 18 goals and 41 points, including 14 points on the power play, over 54 games this season. Juho Lammikko could be in the lineup if Hischier is unable to play.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Put on injured reserve

Turcotte (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday

Turcotte has missed the last two games and could be out of action until after the Olympic break. The 24-year-old forward has one goal and five assists in his past 11 games, giving him three goals and nine assists over 49 appearances this season. The Kings activated Anze Kopitar (lower body) from injured reserve in a corresponding move.

  • Senators' Stephen Halliday: Good to go

Halliday (upper body) will return to the lineup against New Jersey on Saturday, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Halliday will occupy a fourth-line role against the Devils after missing Wednesday's 5-2 win over Colorado. He has contributed three goals, 10 points, 24 shots on net and 24 hits through 21 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Anze Kopitar: Ready to rock

Kopitar (lower body) was activated off injured reserve Saturday.

The injury cost Kopitar 11 games in what could be his last season in the NHL. The 38-year-old will likely return to his roles on the first line and top power-play unit. He had six goals and 15 assists in 37 outings before his injury. To make room for Kopitar, the Kings placed Alex Turcotte (upper body) on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Out until after Olympic break

Ritichie (lower body) will not return the lineup until after the Olympic break, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports Saturday.

Ritchie has missed the last three games and will miss at least the next four contests. He attempted to skate on his own earlier in the week, but it did not go well. As a result, the Islanders will sit him out through the break. Ritchie has seven goals and eight assists through 40 games this season.

  • Capitals' Connor McMichael: Surfaces on IR

McMichael (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

McMichael sustained the injury late in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over Detroit. He will miss at least the next four games and won't be ready to return until after the Olympic break. McMichael has eight goals, 31 points, 105 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and 30 hits across 55 appearances this season. According to Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post, McMichael is week-to-week.

  • Flyers' Lane Pederson: Returned to AHL

Pederson was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Pederson failed to pick up a point in five NHL games during his recent recall and was a healthy scratch Thursday in Boston. The Flyers recalled goaltender Aleksei Kolosov from Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.

  • Frank Nazar C | CHI

Blackhawks' Frank Nazar: Buries goal in loss

Nazar scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Nazar hadn't scored in his first five games back from an upper-body injury. He's moved onto the top line with Connor Bedard -- while listed on the wing, Nazar has been taking the faceoffs for the top line over the last couple of games. Nazar is up to seven goals, 24 points, 84 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 39 appearances this season.
