  • Zach Dean C | STL

Blues' Zach Dean: Clears Player Assistance Program

Dean was cleared by the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and reassigned to AHL Springfield on Thursday.

Dean had a goal and four points in 11 regular-season appearances with Springfield in 2024-25. He hasn't played yet this season. He was originally selected by Vegas with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, and St. Louis acquired Dean from the Golden Knights on Feb. 26, 2023 in exchange for Ivan Barbashev.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Canucks' Marco Rossi: Out for at least one week

Rossi (lower body) will be out of the Canucks' lineup for at least a week, Randip Janda of Sportsnet 650 reports Thursday.

Rossi missed Thursday's practice and the final eight minutes of Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia, per Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com. The 24-year-old Rossi has five goals and 15 points in 25 outings between Minnesota and Vancouver this season. Aatu Raty is slated to draw back into the lineup Friday versus Seattle because of Rossi's injury.

  • Noah Ostlund C | BUF

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Dishes pair of helpers

Ostlund notched two assists in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Stars.

Ostlund hadn't earned an assist in December, but he had four goals over eight games prior to Wednesday. While he didn't add to his scoring total, he helped out on goals by Bowen Byram and Tage Thompson in this win. Ostlund has looked good in a middle-six role so far, earning 12 points, 31 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 28 appearances this season. He should be on the radar in deeper fantasy formats, though he hasn't done enough for widespread appeal yet.

  • Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle: Pots goal in loss

Coyle scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Coyle had gone six games without a goal, though he had four assists in that span. The 33-year-old had 10 points over 14 outings in December for his most productive month of the campaign. He's up to six goals, 25 points, 52 shots on net, 58 hits, 23 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 39 contests this season, mainly in a middle-six role.

  • Noah Laba C | NYR

    Rangers' Noah Laba: Is week-to-week

Laba (upper body) is week-to-week, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports Thursday.

Laba sustained the injury during Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Washington. He has five goals, 12 points, 20 PIM, 53 hits and 30 blocks in 42 appearances this season. The Rangers are also without forwards Conor Sheary (lower body), J.T. Miller (upper body) and Adam Edstrom (lower body). To adjust to their injury situation, the Rangers moved Sheary to LTIR, sent Brennan Othmann to AHL Hartford and recalled Justin Dowling, Brett Berard and Anton Blidh from the minors Thursday.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Three points in win

Thompson recorded two goals and an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Stars.

Thompson was a dominant presence on offense for the Sabres in the club's 10th straight win, as he participated directly in three of the team's four goals. The star center is up to 37 points (20 goals, 17 assists) so far, and he should continue to play a big role on offense for a red-hot Buffalo team. He's notched 14 points (seven goals, seven helpers) during the team's ongoing winning run.

  • Stars' Mavrik Bourque: Scores in loss to Buffalo

Bourque scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Sabres.

Bourque got the Stars on the board just 15 seconds into the game with a snap shot, but that would be all the offense Dallas would muster throughout the game. Bourque should continue to see opportunities to produce due to his top-six role in the lineup, but he hasn't been at his best lately. He has notched just four points (two goals, two assists) over his last 10 outings.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Nets PP goal

Hischier scored a power-play goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Hischier scored a goal for the first time since Dec. 1 -- and perhaps as a coincidence, that previous goal also came against the Blue Jackets. Hischier has been putting up solid numbers of late and has cracked the scoresheet in four of his last six outings, tallying five points (one goal, four helpers) in that span.

  • Wild's Vinnie Hinostroza: First helper since return

Hinostroza supplied an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.

The helper was Hinostroza's first point in six games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The 31-year-old winger is filling a bottom-six role and shouldn't be expected to play a major role on offense while the Wild are near full health. For the season, he has six points, 24 shots on net, 22 hits and a minus-3 rating across 28 appearances.

  • Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Scores in overtime loss Wednesday

Harkins scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Lightning.

Harkins has played in three of the last four games and could see an uptick in playing time while Frank Vatrano (shoulder) is sidelined. The 28-year-old Harkins can be expected to stay on the fourth line, giving him minimal fantasy upside. He's scored three goals on 13 shots with 55 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating across 18 outings this season.
