  • Nazem Kadri C | COL

Avalanche's Nazem Kadri: Heading to familiar home

Kadri and a 2027 fourth-round pick were acquired by Colorado from Calgary on Friday in exchange for a conditional 2028 first-round selection, a conditional 2027 second-round pick, Victor Olofsson and Max Curran, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

The Flames are also retaining 20 percent of Kadri's remaining salary, so Colorado will be responsible for a $5.6 million annual cap hit through the 2028-29 campaign. Kadri has 12 goals and 41 points in 61 outings with the Flames in 2025-26. He's returning to an organization he's very familiar with. Kadri spent three campaigns with Colorado from 2019-20 through 2021-22. He took a huge step forward in 2021-22, providing 28 goals and 87 points in 71 regular-season outings before adding another seven goals and 15 points in 16 playoff appearances to help Colorado win the Stanley Cup in 2022. Kadri might serve primarily as Colorado's third-line center behind Nathan MacKinnon and Brock Nelson, but Kadri should contribute significantly more offensively than that role typically suggests.

  • Ty Mueller C | VAN

Canucks' Ty Mueller: Still in AHL

Mueller wasn't called up to Vancouver on Friday despite an earlier report to the contrary, per Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650.

Mueller has 11 goals and 28 points in 49 outings with AHL Abbotsford in 2025-26. The 23-year-old hasn't played for Vancouver this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle: Won't play Saturday

Coyle will not be in the lineup against Utah on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Coyle is not expected to be sidelined long term and could return as early as Monday's matchup with the Kings. Over his last 11 contests, the Massachusetts native has produced six goals and 11 assists, including five multi-point performances.

  • Brad Lambert C | WPG

Jets' Brad Lambert: Recalled by Winnipeg

Lambert was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Friday.

The Jets traded several of their contributors ahead of Friday's deadline, so Lambert will rejoin the NHL club for the first time since mid-November. He's made 34 appearances with Manitoba this year, generating six goals, seven assists, 18 PIM and a minus-10 rating.

  • Flyers' Denver Barkey: Sent down to minors

Barkey was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Barkey's demotion could be a temporary move to make him eligible for the AHL playoffs, so fantasy managers will want to monitor his status ahead of Saturday's clash with Pittsburgh. In his last 10 outings for the club, the 20-year-old center has managed just two points and nine shots.

  • Jiri Kulich C | BUF

Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Season likely over

Kulich (ear) has been improving but will likely miss the rest of the 2025-26 season, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports Friday.

Kulich has been out of action since Nov. 1 against the Capitals due to an issue related to fluid in his ears. It was determined later to be a blood clot. As a rookie in 2024-25, he notched 15 goals and nine assists in 62 games. He had three goals and five points in 12 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. Buffalo general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said Friday that doctors are hopeful the issue will resolve in time for next season.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Inks three-year extension

Pageau signed a three-year, $14.55 million contract extension with the Islanders on Friday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Pageau would've been eligible for unrestricted free agency in the summer, but he has decided to stay with the Islanders. He has compiled 14 goals, 29 points, 60 shots on net, 45 blocked shots and 81 hits across 55 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Scott Laughton: Headed out west

Laughton (not injury related) was traded to Los Angeles on Friday from Toronto in exchange for a conditional third-round pick, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports.

Laughton was limited to just 63 regular-season games for the Leafs over the last two years, logging 10 goals and six helpers along the way. The veteran forward should offer the Kings some depth down the middle but will likely remain in a bottom-six role. As such, he's unlikely to produce more than mid-range fantasy value down the stretch.

  • David Kampf C | WAS

    Capitals' David Kampf: Joining Caps

Kampf was traded to Washington from Vancouver on Friday in exchange for a sixth-round pick, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Kampf was waived by the Leafs coming out of training camp and eventually given his outright release before signing with Vancouver. In his 38 games with the club, the 31-year-old winger notched two goals and four assists while dishing out 43 hits. None of that amounts to much in terms of fantasy value, and his move to the Capitals is unlikely to come with an increased role.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Could return Monday

Byfield (upper body) will join the Kings for their upcoming five-game road trip, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports Friday.

Byfield's recovery timeline will see him remain on the shelf versus the Habs on Saturday, but he at least appears to be trending in the right direction. The Ontario native was heating up offensively prior to getting hurt, racking up four goals and one assist in his last seven outings. Once given the all-clear, Byfield should be in line for a middle-six role with the Kings.
