  • John Beecher C | CGY

Flames' John Beecher: Receives one-game suspension

Beecher (upper body) received a one-game suspension from the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for roughing Nashville's Michael McCarron on Saturday.

Beecher won't be eligible to play in Monday's matchup against Seattle because of the suspension. However, he could miss additional time after serving the one-game ban, as he suffered an injury in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Predators.

  • Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: In Sunday's lineup

Brindley (lower body) will play Sunday against the Panthers, according to the NHL Media site.

Brindley was injured during Wednesday's 6-1 victory over the Blues and missed Saturday's contest against the Hurricanes as a result. It will be just a one-game absence for the 21-year-old, as he is set to return for Sunday's battle with the Panthers. He has registered nine points (five goals, four assists) in 27 games played.

  • Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Inks three-year extension

Wennberg signed a three-year, $18 million contract extension with San Jose on Sunday.

Wennberg has accounted for seven goals, 26 points, 47 shots on net and 52 blocked shots across 41 appearances this season. He has been a versatile middle-six forward for the organization since signing a two-year, $10 million deal with the Sharks in July of 2024.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Won't play Sunday

Monahan (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup against Pittsburgh on Sunday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.

Monahan will miss his fourth straight game, but he could return to action against San Jose on Tuesday. He has contributed five goals, 19 points, 65 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and 24 hits across 37 appearances this season.

  • Blues' Robert Thomas: Grabs shorthanded goal

Thomas scored a shorthanded goal and placed two shots on net in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Canadiens.

Following his takeaway near center ice, Thomas dangled past multiple defenders to create an opening for an Alexei Toropchenko shot, and Thomas finished off the play by scoring on the ensuing rebound. The 26-year-old Thomas now has 10 goals, 30 points, 57 shots on net and 23 blocks through 39 outings this season. Saturday's shorthanded goal helped him become the first skater for the Blues to reach 30 points this season. Despite going scoreless in the previous three games, Thomas still has 13 points over the last 14 contests. It would take a monstrous effort for the Blues' top-line center to reach the 80-point mark for the third consecutive season, as he has produced at a 63-point pace when available in addition to missing four games this season.

  • John Beecher C | CGY

Flames' John Beecher: Set for hearing for roughing

Beecher (upper body) will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday.

Beecher could face supplemental discipline for roughing Nashville's Michael McCarron in Saturday's 4-3 loss. The 24-year-old Beecher racked up 17 PIM in the contest and left the game early due to an injury.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Scores goal vs. Chicago

Strome scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks.

Strome has scored goals in back-to-back games and remains on a tear. He's cracked the scoresheet in seven of his last eight appearances while posting 10 points (four goals, six assists) in that stretch.

  • Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen: Extends scoring streak

Teravainen scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals.

Teravainen has found the back of the net in three straight games, and his last two goals have come on the power play. These have been his first goals since Nov. 30, and Teravainen will likely remain streaky on offense. He holds a bottom-six role in the lineup, limiting his scoring opportunities outside of power-play situations, where he currently occupies a spot on the top unit.

  • Ryan Donato C | CHI

Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Scores with lone shot

Donato scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals.

Donato snapped a four-game goalless run with a first-period tally, scoring with a tip-in just 1:13 into the game. The 29-year-old has recorded points in four of his last seven appearances, but his overall numbers have been a bit disappointing. Even though he has a top-six role in the lineup, Donato has 10 goals and 18 total points across 41 contests.

  • Adam Lowry C | WPG

Jets' Adam Lowry: Pots goal vs. Ottawa

Lowry scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Senators.

Lowry gave the Jets a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal at the 12:08 mark of the first period, but that strong start wouldn't translate to a win. Lowry's fantasy upside is limited since he holds a bottom-six role and doesn't see time on the power play, but he's been putting up solid numbers lately. He's cracked the scoresheet in three of his last four outings, tallying two goals and one assist over that span.
