Dominic Toninato C | CHI
Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Registers first assist
Toninato notched an assist, three hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Toninato, a fifth-round pick of Toronto in 2012, was able to get on the scoresheet with a helper on Wyatt Kaiser's first-period tally. This was Toninato's first point in two games at the NHL level this year. He'll have a chance to see fourth-line usage until the Blackhawks get either Nick Foligno (hand) or Connor Bedard (upper body) back in the lineup.

Calle Jarnkrok C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Calle Jarnkrok: Losing favor in December
Jarnkrok was scratched for the fourth time in seven games in December when he sat out Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Jarnkrok's three-game goal streak to begin the year is a distant memory now -- he's scored just once since then. The 34-year-old forward has four goals, 21 shots on net, 14 hits and a minus-8 rating over 21 appearances. Fantasy managers won't need to roster him as long as he's stuck in a part-time role, and likely beyond that as well, as he probably won't see more than fourth-line usage.

Shane Wright C | SEA
Kraken's Shane Wright: Ends slump with goal
Wright scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche.
Wright entered Tuesday with no points in his last five outings, and he hadn't scored since Nov. 20 in Chicago. The 21-year-old was able to change that, tying this contest at 1-1 early in the second period on a play at the net front. The center has six goals, 13 points, 47 shots on net, 26 hits, 23 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 31 appearances. Wright's in a third-line role on a low-scoring team and seems to be putting more focus on defense this year, which has come at the expense of his offense.

Chandler Stephenson C | SEA
Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Pots power-play goal
Stephenson scored a power-play goal on five shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche.
Stephenson has scored on the power play in back-to-back games, and he has three goals and three helpers during a six-game point streak. The consistency is a positive for the top-six center, who had not posted a streak longer than three contests over the first two months of the season. He's now at seven goals, 18 points (eight on the power play), 52 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 31 outings. Considering he's failed to top 100 shots in each of the last two years, the increased shot volume could be fueling Stephenson's success on offense.

Martin Necas C | COL
Avalanche's Martin Necas: Provides two more assists
Necas recorded two assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
Necas picked up multiple helpers for the fourth time in his last six games, though he hasn't scored a goal in that span. The 26-year-old forward continues to be a steady source of offense for the Avalanche. He's up to 45 points (14 goals, 31 assists), 70 shots on net, 31 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-32 rating over 33 appearances.

Brock Nelson C | COL
Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Tallies game-winner on power play
Nelson scored a power-play goal on seven shots in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
Nelson has a goal in four of his last five games. The seven shots were a season high, and he was rewarded for that effort with the game-winning tally Tuesday, his third such goal of the campaign. Overall, he's at 13 goals, 22 points (four on the power play), 63 shots, 29 blocked shots, 18 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-11 rating through 33 appearances.

Nathan MacKinnon C | COL
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Fuels comeback with three points
MacKinnon scored twice on five shots, added a power-play assist, logged two hits and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
MacKinnon led the charge in a third-period comeback, scoring a game-tying goal and the empty-netter to seal the win. The 30-year-old is on a six-game point streak (six goals, six helpers), and he's earned multiple points in five of those contests. For the season, the superstar center has 28 goals, 30 helpers, 155 shots on net, 26 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-43 rating over 33 appearances.

Blake Coleman C | CGY
Flames' Blake Coleman: Finds twine in loss
Coleman scored a goal on four shots and added five hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks.
Coleman has scored in back-to-back games after going eight contests without a goal. The 34-year-old continues to be a steady secondary scorer in a third-line role. He's up to 10 goals, 15 points, 78 shots, 81 hits, 25 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-9 rating over 34 appearances. Coleman's all-around production at least partially makes up for his middling offense, which allows him to be an option in some fantasy formats.
-
Nazem Kadri C | COL
Flames' Nazem Kadri: Buries goal in loss
Kadri scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks.
Kadri has two goals and seven points over his last five outings. The 35-year-old continues to play well in a top-six role, earning seven goals, 29 points, 108 shots on net, 22 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 34 appearances. Fantasy managers who stomach a poor plus-minus rating can get a decent return of points and shots by rostering Kadri.

Zack Ostapchuk C | SJ
Sharks' Zack Ostapchuk: Nabs first helper
Ostapchuk logged an assist and two hits in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Flames.
The helper was Ostapchuk's first point in 12 games this season. He's been scratched in four of eight contests in December so far after being a regular in the lineup in the latter half of November. The 22-year-old has added six shots on net, 33 hits and a minus-2 rating, so he has minimal fantasy appeal from a fourth-line spot.
