  • James Hagens C | BOS

Bruins' James Hagens: Posts hat trick in BC win

Hagens scored three goals in Boston College's 5-3 win over the University of Notre Dame on Friday.

Hagens is up to nine goals on the season, scoring five of them over his last three games. The forward has added seven assists and a plus-3 rating over 14 contests. The talented Bruins prospect is well on his way to matching or surpassing last year's 37-point effort over 37 games as a freshman.

  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Contributes another goal

Geekie netted a goal in a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Friday.

Geekie has an incredible 18 goals in 26 appearances this season, including six markers over his past five outings. The 27-year-old took a huge step forward with 33 goals during the 2024-25 regular season, shattering his previous career high of 17, but that success came with a 22.0 shooting percentage, which was in stark contrast to his 10.7 shooting percentage over 254 regular-season outings from 2020-21 through 2023-24. That was a potential warning sign that he might regress, but that clearly hasn't been the case. He's now tied with Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL goal-scoring lead, though Geekie doesn't come close to the Avalanche superstar in overall points -- Geekie has just six assists this year.

  • Bruins' Casey Mittelstadt: Scores goal in return

Mittelstadt found the back of the net in a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Friday.

Mittelstadt was drawing into his first game since Nov. 6 due to a lower-body injury. He logged 17:14 of ice time in his return, which is the second-highest amount that he's gotten in a game this season, so it's safe to say he isn't being eased back into the lineup. The 27-year-old has five goals and 10 points in 16 appearances in 2025-26. Look for him to routinely serve in a middle-six capacity now that he's healthy.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Nets two goals Friday

Zibanejad scored twice in the Rangers' 6-2 win over Boston on Friday.

Both of Zibanejad's goals were scored on the power play. The 32-year-old has been held off the scoresheet just once over his past five outings, giving him two goals and six points across that span. He's up to nine goals and 18 points -- six goals and nine points with the man advantage -- in 26 outings in 2025-26. His overall offensive numbers are far from disastrous, but his point pace is below what he's shown he's capable of in past seasons. Still, Zibanejad seems to have found his rhythm after a slow start -- he had just six points over his first 14 games of the season -- so his recent performance might be a better sign of what he'll provide for the rest of the campaign.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Good to go Friday

Poehling (upper body) will draw back into the lineup Friday, according to Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Poehling is appearing in his first game since Nov. 11. He has a goal and six points in 16 outings in 2025-26. Poehling is projected to center the third line in his return. Jansen Harkins is a healthy scratch Friday as a result of Poehling's return.

  • Ridly Greig C | OTT

    Senators' Ridly Greig: Unavailable Friday

Greig (undisclosed) isn't available for Friday's game against St. Louis, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Greig hasn't been in the lineup since Nov. 15. He has two goals, eight points, 20 PIM, 30 shots and 25 hits in 19 outings in 2025-26. When Greig's able to return, Hayden Hodgson might lose his spot in the lineup.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

    Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Remains out

Staal (illness) won't play against Winnipeg on Friday, per Walt Ruff and Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site.

Staal will miss his third straight game. He has recorded seven goals, two assists, 27 shots on net and 37 hits across 21 appearances this season. Due to Staal's absence, Justin Robidas will maintain a spot in Carolina's bottom six.

  • Oilers' Jack Roslovic: Out for weeks

Roslovic (undisclosed) is expected to be out of the lineup for at least a couple of weeks, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports Friday.

That's a significant blow for Edmonton because Roslovic has been playing well above expectations, providing 10 goals and 18 points through 23 outings. If there's a silver lining for the Oilers, it's that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (undisclosed) is projected to draw back into the lineup for Saturday's game in Seattle after missing Edmonton's past nine games. The Oilers are also getting Curtis Lazar (upper body) back after he missed their past four matches.

  • Senators' Stephen Halliday: Sent to AHL affiliate

Halliday was loaned to AHL Belleville on Friday.

Brady Tkachuk (thumb) was taken off injured Friday, which resulted in Halliday being dropped to the minors to free up a roster spot for the Sens. Halliday registered an assist, four shots on goal, three hits and a minus-1 rating during his four-game stint with the big club.

  • Pavel Zacha C | BOS

Bruins' Pavel Zacha: Day-to-day with undisclosed injury

Zacha (undisclosed) won't suit up for Friday's home game versus the Rangers and is day-to-day, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.

Zacha, along with David Pastrnak (undisclosed), was injured in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Islanders, according to head coach Marco Sturm. It may be an uphill battle for Zacha to be ready for the team's next game, which is in the second half of a back-to-back Saturday against Detroit. The 28-year-old has accounted for five goals, 17 points, 38 shots on goal and a minus-4 rating across 25 outings this season.
