Paul Cotter C | NJ
Devils' Paul Cotter: Pots first goal of season
Cotter scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Minnesota.
Cotter opened the scoring for the Devils with a wrister at the 16:21 mark of the first period. Not only was this Cotter's first goal of the campaign, but it was the first time he cracked the scoresheet in 2025-26. As a bottom-six forward who doesn't see time on special teams, his role on offense is limited, so fantasy managers should keep him on waivers until his role changes for the better.

Logan Morrison C | SEA
Kraken's Logan Morrison: Impresses in Firebirds' win
Morrison scored twice on four shots and added an assist in AHL Coachella Valley's 6-3 win over San Jose on Wednesday.
Morrison now has two goals and two assists through four contests this season. The Firebirds are off to a slow start, but getting the 23-year-old Morrison on track should help their offense. He's topped 40 points in each of his first two regular seasons in the AHL, and he also has four games of NHL experience under his belt from the 2023-24 campaign.

Zack Bolduc C | MON
Canadiens' Zachary Bolduc: Power-play tally in win
Bolduc scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames.
Bolduc's goal opened the scoring late in the first period. He started the season with four points over three games, but he slumped with no points in four outings going into Wednesday's contest. The 22-year-old's offensive struggles dropped him to the fourth line at even strength, but he remains a valuable piece of the power play. Bolduc has four goals, one helper, 19 shots on net, 12 hits, four PIM and a minus-1 rating across eight appearances.

Emmitt Finnie C | DET
Red Wings' Emmitt Finnie: Finds twine in Wednesday's loss
Finnie scored a goal and added two hits in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.
Finnie has now scored in back-to-back games, and he's up to three goals and six assists through seven outings to begin his NHL career. The 20-year-old was limited to 13:05 of ice time Wednesday, his lowest total since Opening Night, but he was still taking a fairly regular shift on the top line. He's also produced 13 shots on net, 23 hits, four blocked shots and a plus-7 rating, so he has some multi-category appeal for fantasy managers willing to buy into his hot start.
-
Ryan McLeod C | BUF
Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Distributes two helpers
McLeod notched two assists and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.
McLeod has four points through seven contests, but they've come in a pair of two-point performances. His effort Wednesday saw him set up a Jack Quinn power-play tally at 4:15 of the third period before feeding Josh Doan at even strength a few minutes later. McLeod has added nine shots on net, six blocks and a minus-2 rating this season while filling a second-line role at even strength. He'll need to show more offensive consistency to be an option for fantasy managers. However, he's worth a look if that happens, considering his 20-goal, 53-point campaign in 2024-25.

Tyson Kozak C | BUF
Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Tallies again Wednesday
Kozak scored a goal, added five hits and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.
Kozak has scored in back-to-back games. He also saw a season-high 15:46 of ice time in this contest, likely to help cover some minutes after Jason Zucker (upper body) left the game. Kozak's been on the fourth line, but he's got a little momentum and does enough in non-scoring areas to be worthy of consideration in deep fantasy formats if he moves up a line. In addition to his two goals, he's provided five shots on net, 18 hits, four blocks and a plus-2 rating through six appearances.

Cody Glass C | NJ
Devils' Cody Glass: Unavailable Wednesday
Glass (upper body) won't play Wednesday versus the Wild.
Glass scored his second goal of the season against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. He also logged 12:19 of ice time, so it's not clear when he sustained the injury. The Devils are getting Stefan Noesen back from a groin injury to replace Glass in the lineup Wednesday. Glass can be considered day-to-day for now.

Brett Howden C | LV
Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Trending toward playing Saturday
Head coach Bruce Cassidy said Wednesday that Howden (lower body) is trending toward playing Saturday against the Panthers, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Howden has missed the last four games due to a lower-body injury, but it appears likely that he'll be back in action for the start of the Golden Knights' upcoming road trip. Over three appearances prior to his absence, he recorded a goal and six hits while averaging 12:02 of ice time.

Marc Gatcomb C | NYI
Islanders' Marc Gatcomb: Lands on waivers
Gatcomb was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Gatcomb earned an Opening Night roster spot but saw minimal usage over the first few weeks of the regular season, making just one appearance for the Islanders. If he clears waivers, he'll likely head to AHL Bridgeport, where he should see more consistent playing time.

Casey Mittelstadt C | BOS
Bruins' Casey Mittelstadt: Responds well to scratch
Mittelstadt had two assists in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Panthers.
Mittelstadt was a healthy scratch Sunday versus the Mammoth, but he bounced back with his first multi-point effort of the season. He also returned to a second-line role and a spot on the second power-play unit. The 26-year-old is at four points, six shots on net and a minus-1 rating through seven appearances this season. Mittelstadt has struggled to be consistent on offense in recent years, and that's unlikely to change for a Bruins team that is middle-of-the-road at best.
