  • T.J. Tynan C | COL

Avalanche's T.J. Tynan: Called up Saturday

Tynan was recalled from AHL Colorado on Saturday.

Tynan is expected to spend most of the season at the AHL level. The 33-year-old played nine regular-season games with the Avalanche in 2024-25, picking up one assist. Those nine outings were his first NHL action since the 2021-22 campaign, when he played in a couple of games for Los Angeles.

  • Zack Bolduc C | MON

Canadiens' Zachary Bolduc: Not playing Saturday

Bolduc (lower body) is not in the lineup Saturday versus Ottawa, Patrick Friolet of RDS.ca reports.

Bolduc also sat out Friday's practice and remains day-to-day ahead of Montreal's regular-season opener against Toronto on Wednesday. He registered 19 goals and 17 assists across 72 regular-season appearances with St. Louis in 2024-25. After being acquired by the Canadiens in the offseason, he could occupy a top-six role once he's healthy.

  • Jayson Megna C | COL

Avalanche's Jayson Megna: Inks AHL deal

Megna signed a two-year contract with AHL Colorado on July 9.

Megna tallied 19 goals and 37 assists in 69 regular-season appearances for AHL Providence in 2024-25. Megna has participated in training camp with the Avalanche, but he will return to AHL Colorado after Saturday's preseason finale against Dallas.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Expected to play Saturday

Sillinger (hand) is slated to play in Saturday's preseason finale in Washington, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

Sillinger is expected to line up alongside Boone Jenner and Adam Fantilli. Sillinger had a career-high 33 points in 66 regular-season games in 2024-25 and should be able to produce 40-45 points barring any serious injury in 2025-26.

  • Noah Ostlund C | BUF

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Sent to minors

Ostlund (undisclosed) was demoted to AHL Rochester on Saturday.

Ostlund was week-to-week with an undisclosed injury, but his demotion indicates he should be ready for the start of the AHL season. He didn't earn a point in eight regular-season outings with the Sabres in 2024-25. However, he had 19 goals and 17 assists in 45 appearances with AHL Rochester during the 2024-25 regular season. He should see some NHL action this campaign.

  • Nico Sturm C | MIN

    Wild's Nico Sturm: Returns Friday

Sturm (back) will participate in Friday's preseason game against Chicago, per the NHL media site.

It'll be Sturm's first exhibition game of training camp due to the back injury. The 30-year-old recorded seven goals, 14 points, 20 PIM and 107 hits in 62 regular-season appearances between San Jose and Florida in 2024-25. Sturm will probably make Minnesota's Opening Night roster, but he might spend some of the campaign as a healthy scratch.

  • Zack MacEwen RW | NJ

    Devils' Zack MacEwen: Acquired Friday

MacEwen was acquired by New Jersey from Ottawa on Friday in exchange for Kurtis MacDermid.

MacEwen had two goals, three points and 21 PIM in 21 outings with Ottawa as well as seven goals, 16 points and 29 PIM across 23 appearances with AHL Belleville during the 2024-25 regular season. MacEwen might factor into the Devils' fourth line, but it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up spending a significant chunk of the season as a healthy scratch. There's even a chance New Jersey will attempt to push MacEwen through waivers despite having traded for him.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Slated to play Saturday

Jankowski (undisclosed) is expected to play in Saturday's preseason finale against Nashville, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Jankowski was limited throughout training camp due to his undisclosed injury, but he'll return to action for the Hurricanes' final preseason game. Despite his absence during the preseason, it wouldn't be surprising to see him make the Opening Night roster.

  • Jack McBain C | UTA

    Mammoth's Jack McBain: Playing Saturday

McBain (undisclosed) will return to the lineup versus San Jose on Saturday, Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports reports.

McBain will play in the Mammoth's final preseason game. He missed most of training camp with the injury. Look for McBain to slot into a bottom-six role for Utah this season. He had 13 goals, 14 assists, 78 PIM and 291 hits across 82 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.

  • Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Offically ruled out Friday

Dorofeyev (lower body) will miss the preseason finale versus the Sharks on Friday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Dorofeyev was on the ice Friday but won't be in the lineup for the Knights. While the team hasn't offered a firm recovery timeline yet, the fact that he is back on the ice could clear the way for the winger to suit up in the season opener versus Los Angeles on Wednesday.
