  • Pavel Zacha C | BOS

Bruins' Pavel Zacha: Back skating Wednesday

Zacha (undisclosed) was skating ahead of Boston's development camp Wednesday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.

Zacha underwent a minor procedure back in April and appears to be back on the ice. The 28-year-old center played in all 82 regular-season games last year, racking up 14 goals and 33 assists, and looks poised to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Barring more free-agent additions, Zacha should slot into the second-line center role for Boston.

  • Wild's Tyler Pitlick: Signs with hometown team

Pitlick signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Wild on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Pitlick, a Minneapolis native, will come home for the first time in his career. The 33-year-old was on an AHL contract for much of 2024-25 before earning a two-way deal with the Bruins in March. He rebuilt some value with 46 points in 59 regular-season games for AHL Providence. Pitlick will be in contention for bottom-six minutes for the Wild this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Vinni Lettieri: Finds work with Toronto

Lettieri signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Lettieri was able to get into 26 NHL games with the Bruins last season, earning five points, 52 shots on net and 60 hits. The 30-year-old will be in contention for bottom-six minutes with the Maple Leafs. He may spend some time in the AHL with the Marlies, but Lettieri has proven himself a decent depth forward.

  • Islanders' Matthew Highmore: Signs two-way with Isles

Highmore signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders, the team announced Tuesday.

Highmore played 41 regular-season games, scoring two goals and four assists, with the Senators in 2024-25. However, the 29-year-old has opted to sign a two-way contract with the Islanders for his next deal. It seems like the center will start 2025-26 in the minors, but he'll likely be one of the top call-up options for the big club.

  • Bruins' Michael Eyssimont: Headed to Beantown

Eyssimont signed a two-year, $2.9 million contract with Boston on Tuesday.

Eyssimont provided nine goals, 16 points, 142 shots on net and 110 hits over 77 regular-season appearances between Seattle and Tampa Bay in 2024-25. He will probably serve as a bottom-six forward for Boston during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Ryan McLeod C | BUF

Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Locked in with Buffalo

McLeod signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Sabres, the team announced Tuesday.

McLeod entered the free agency period as one of a few key restricted free agents that the Sabres had yet to lock in, so this is a big piece of business to get done. After being acquired by Buffalo from Edmonton in July 2024, the 25-year-old had, by far, his best season as a pro, posting 20 goals and 33 assists across 79 games. With his new contract in hand, the 6-foot-3 pivot will continue to play an important middle-six role with the Sabres.

  • Joe Labate C | VAN

Canucks' Joseph LaBate: Headed to Vancouver

LaBate signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canucks, the team announced Tuesday.

LaBate has rejoined the team that gave him his NHL start back in 2016-17, but he likely won't begin his second stint with the organization in the NHL. The 32-year-old will probably instead start with AHL Abbotsford. Last year in the AHL with Cleveland, the Blue Jackets' affiliate, he scored eight goals and 13 assists in 51 regular-season games.

  • Maple Leafs' Benoit-Olivier Groulx: Set to join Toronto

Groulx has signed a two-year, $1.625 million contract with the Maple Leafs, the team announced Tuesday.

Groulx has a little bit of NHL experience, but none since the 2023-24 season, when he was with the Ducks. For his career, the 25-year-old has one goal and four assists in 65 NHL regular-season games. He will likely start this coming season in the minors.

  • Travis Boyd C | TOR

Maple Leafs' Travis Boyd: Pens one-year pact

Boyd signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with Toronto on Tuesday.

Boyd collected 22 goals and 53 points in 63 regular-season contests with AHL Iowa in 2024-25. The 31-year-old forward has 47 tallies and 118 points in 299 NHL regular-season appearances, but he could spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

  • Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Lands two-year deal

Toninato signed a two-year, two-way contract with Chicago on Tuesday.

Toninato was limited to just five regular-season outings with the Jets last season, instead playing the bulk of his games in the minors with AHL Manitoba. With the Moose, the 31-year-old Duluth native notched 18 goals and 18 helpers. Considering the Hawks are still rebuilding their roster, Toninato should have a decent chance at making the Opening Night roster this fall.
