Oilers' Connor Brown: Should be good for Game 1
Brown (undisclosed) will be ready for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Panthers on Wednesday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Brown missed the final two games of the Western Conference Finals against the Stars, but the extra time off between series has done him well since he should be ready to go for the series opener against the Panthers. The Oilers will be happy to have him back considering Brown has produced five goals and three assists in 14 postseason games. His addition to the lineup means another forward like Jeff Skinner may be pushed out of the lineup again.

Andrew Poturalski: Released from contract
Poturalski was released from his contract Friday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Rehabbing shoulder in offseason
Jarvis played with a shoulder injury during most of the season, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports Friday.
Jarvis rehabbed his shoulder last offseason and will do the same this summer, but he will not require surgery. Jarvis had 32 goals and 35 assists over 73 regular-season games. He was outstanding during the playoffs with six goals and 10 assists in 15 games, tied for eighth in NHL scoring.

Mattias Janmark C | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Solid breakaway results
Janmark scored a goal Thursday in a 6-3 win over Dallas in Game 5.
Janmark made it 2-0 on a breakaway when he went five-hole on Jake Oettinger at 7:09 of the first period. It was Edmonton's second shot, and it forced Jake Oettinger out out of the game after he failed to record a save. Janmark is a strong bottom-six pivot who understands his role perfectly. Every team needs a player like him; fantasy managers typically don't.

Leon Draisaitl C | EDM
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Six-game, 10-point scoring streak
Draisaitl delivered two assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Stars in Game 5.
Like fellow Oilers star Connor McDavid, Draisaitl has put up points in 14 of the team's 16 playoff games this season (seven goals, 18 assists). He sits one point behind McDavid for the NHL playoff scoring lead heading into the Stanley Cup Finals. Draisaitl has 10 points, including eight assists, on a six-game point streak.

Connor McDavid C | EDM
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Five-game, nine-point streak
McDavid had a goal and an assist in Thursday's 6-3 win over Dallas in Game 5.
McDavid scored the ultimate winner on a breakaway at 14:28 of the second period, which pushed the score to 4-2. He leads the NHL with 26 points (six goals, 20 assists) in 16 games this postseason, and he has been held off the scoresheet just twice in that span. McDavid takes a five-game, nine-point scoring streak into the Stanley Cup Finals, and he continues to be the favorite in the Conn Smythe watch as playoff MVP. His assist was his 100th in his 90th playoff game, making him the second-fastest player in NHL history to hit that mark.

Wyatt Johnston C | DAL
Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Snaps seven-game point drought
Johnston delivered two assists in a 6-3 loss to Edmonton in Game 5 on Thursday.
The points snapped a seven-game scoring drought for the 22-year-old who delivered a career high 33 goals and 71 points in 82 games in the regular season. Johnston is a talented young player, but he struggled to find his postseason mojo this year. He finished with four goals and six assists in 18 games, but half of those points (three goals, two assists) came in a three-game stretch against Colorado in the first round.

The Islanders announced Thursday that Horvat sustained an ankle injury at the 2025 IIHF World Championship and is expected to be good to go in 4-6 weeks.
Horvat is undergoing rehab and is expected to be back to full health in time for training camp in September. Horvat had 28 goals, 29 assists and 243 shots on goal over 81 regular-season games in 2024-25.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: One of each in Game 5 loss
Jarvis scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and logged four hits in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Panthers in Game 5.
Jarvis set up a Sebastian Aho goal in the first period and scored one of his own in the third, but it wasn't enough to save the Hurricanes' season. Despite the team's struggles in the Eastern Conference Finals, Jarvis was productive, earning two goals and four assists over five games versus the Panthers. The 23-year-old finished the postseason at 16 points, 36 shots on net, 51 hits and a plus-2 rating over 15 appearances. He's under contract for seven more years, and after a second straight 67-point regular season, Jarvis could elevate his offense over the 70-point mark in 2025-26.
