  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Suffers lower-body injury

Hischier suffered a lower-body injury at the 2025 IIHF World Championship and will miss the remainder of the tournament, Daniel Amoia of The Hockey Writers reports Friday.

The injury should not affect Hischier as far as next season is concerned, as he is expected to return to full health well before training camp. Hischier had 35 goals and 34 assists across 75 regular-season games in 2024-25, leading the Devils in goals while finishing third on the team with 69 points.

  • Jets' Cole Perfetti: Notches helper in win

Perfetti registered a shorthanded assist, four shots on goal, six hits and two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.

Perfetti had been held off the scoresheet in the first four games of the second round. The 23-year-old is still in a second-line role, but he's been under 15 minutes of ice time in four of five games versus the Stars in this series. The winger has contributed six points, 27 shots on net, 29 hits and a minus-3 rating across 12 playoff outings.

  • Jets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Earns pair of points

Namestnikov scored a power-play goal on three shots, dished a shorthanded assist, logged three hits and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.

Namestnikov was involved in the Jets' last two goals of the game to help them stay in the playoffs for at least one more contest. These were his first points in the second round. The 32-year-old center is at three goals, three helpers, 14 shots on net, 29 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 12 playoff outings. Since Mark Scheifele returned from an upper-body injury at the start of the second round, Namestnikov has been back in his usual middle-six role.

  • Jets' Mark Scheifele: One of each in win

Scheifele scored a goal on three shots, added a power-play assist and logged two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.

Scheifele's tally at 6:17 of the second period stood as the game-winner in the shutout. He also helped out on Nikolaj Ehlers' goal early in the third. Scheifele has two goals and two assists over five games in the second round. The center is at four goals, 10 points, 21 shots on net, 12 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 10 appearances this postseason.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Nets first goal of postseason

Staal scored a goal Thursday in a 3-1 series-clinching win over the Capitals in Game 5.

It was Staal's first goal this postseason. He won a board battle against Jakob Chychrun and fed the puck to Jordan Martinook, who quickly passed it back to Staal for a wrist shot from the right circle. The pivot has a point in each of his last two games after being held off the scoresheet for the first eight games this postseason. Staal isn't a fantasy asset at this point in his career, but his Stanley Cup playoff experience and his Cup ring from 2008-09 (Penguins) makes him invaluable as the Canes look forward to the next round.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Tied for team lead in scoring

Jarvis had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Capitals on Thursday. The Hurricanes eliminated the Capitals with the victory.

Jarvis' goal went into an empty net to seal the series. He has 10 points, including six on the power play, and 26 shots in 10 games this postseason. And he's currently on a four-game, five-point scoring streak (two goals, three assists). Jarvis is tied with Sebastian Aho for the team lead in playoff scoring after finishing second to him in the regular season.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Out vs. Washington

Jankowski (undisclosed) is unavailable for Game 5 against the Capitals on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

It will be Jankowski's fourth straight game on the shelf. He has an assist, two hits and three blocks across three playoff appearances this year. Jankowski might serve in a bottom-six capacity once he's ready to return, but it's also possible he'll shift to being a healthy scratch.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Sets up game-winner

Draisaitl logged an assist, five shots on goal and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 1-0 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 5.

Draisaitl spent most of the game centering his own line after playing alongside Connor McDavid for the majority of the first four games of the second round. The switch paid off, as Draisaitl set up Kasperi Kapanen 7:19 into overtime for the game-winning and series-clinching goal. Draisaitl is up to 16 points, 33 shots on net, 12 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 11 playoff contests. He's been held off the scoresheet just twice this postseason.

  • Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Won't play in Game 5

Rodrigues (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 5 in Toronto, Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun reports.

Rodrigues sustained an undisclosed injury in the third period of Sunday's Game 4, but he participated in Tuesday's practice session. However, he was with the fifth line during Wednesday's morning skate and will officially be unavailable for at least one game. Jesper Boqvist will draw into the lineup for Game 5, while it's unclear whether Rodrigues will be able to suit up in Friday's Game 6.

  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Helps out on power play

Duchene notched a power-play assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Jets in Game 4.

Duchene had the secondary helper on Mikael Granlund's hat-trick-clinching tally in the third period. The 34-year-old Duchene has earned two assists over four games in the second round. He's at five helpers this postseason, all of which have come on the power play. The center has added 14 shots on net, nine hits, nine blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 11 playoff contests.
