Gabriel Vilardi C | WPG
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Puts up helper in loss
Vilardi logged an assist, five shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Vilardi found Mark Scheifele for a goal to bring the Jets within one late in the second period, but they couldn't tie the game in the third. The helper was Vilardi's first point in four playoff outings. The 25-year-old returned to action in Game 5 of the first round versus the Blues after missing a month due to an upper-body injury, so it's possible he's just getting back up to speed. He's added 11 shots on net, five hits, five blocked shots and a minus-2 rating this postseason.

Mark Scheifele C | WPG
Jets' Mark Scheifele: Scores in return
Scheifele scored a goal on seven shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Scheifele missed the last two games of the first round due to an upper-body injury. He looks to be fully back, as he logged 22:36 of ice time and also won 18 of 28 faceoffs in this contest. Scheifele has three goals, four assists, 13 shots on net, 10 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-1 rating over six playoff outings, so he'll be a major factor on offense as the Jets look to bounce back from this series-opening loss.

Sam Steel C | DAL
Stars' Sam Steel: Pockets helper in Game 1
Steel provided an assist, five hits and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Jets in Game 1.
Steel snapped a five-game point drought with the helper. The 27-year-old is filling a bottom-six role this postseason, though he's strong defensively and can earn extra shifts when the Stars need to hold a lead. He's contributed three assists, three shots on net, 14 hits, three blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-1 rating over eight playoff appearances.

Matt Duchene C | DAL
Stars' Matt Duchene: Registers power-play helper
Duchene posted a power-play assist in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Jets in Game 1.
Duchene still has yet to score this postseason, but all four of his assists in the playoffs have come over the last four games. The 34-year-old looks to be heating up, especially with the man advantage, which is where he's earned all four helpers. Duchene has added 11 shots on net, six blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over eight playoff outings.

Mark Scheifele C | WPG
Jets' Mark Scheifele: Slated to play
Scheifele (upper body) is expected to play versus the Stars in Wednesday's Game 1, Murat Ates of The Athletic reports.
Scheifele was in a non-contact jersey at practice Tuesday, but he participated in Wednesday's morning skate in his usual top-line spot. The 32-year-old center was apparently on the probable side of a game-time decision and should return after missing the last two contests of the first round. He racked up six points in five games against the Blues, so Scheifele's return will be a big boost for the Jets' offense.

Pavel Dorofeyev RW | LV
Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Dorofeyev (undisclosed) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice and is still day-to-day, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Dorofeyev has missed Vegas' past two games due to the injury. He has a goal and two points in five playoff outings and recorded 35 goals and 52 points across 82 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Victor Olofsson has been serving in a middle-six capacity due to Dorofeyev's absence, and that's likely to continue in Game 2 versus Edmonton on Thursday if Dorofeyev isn't ready to return.

Parker Ford C | WPG
Jets' Parker Ford: Recalled by Winnipeg
Ford was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Wednesday.
Ford made three appearances for the Jets during the regular season, recording a goal, five hits and two PIM while averaging 7:50 of ice time. He'll rejoin Winnipeg as the team deals with several injuries during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but it seems unlikely that Ford will play a sizable role during the postseason.

Mark Jankowski C | CAR
Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Game-time call versus Caps
Jankowski (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Game 2 versus Washington on Thursday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Jankowski has played in three postseason contests in which he generated one assist, four shots and three blocks while averaging 11:21 of ice time in a fourth-line role. If Jankowski is unable to play Thursday, Jack Roslovic or Tyson Jost figures to step into the lineup in his stead.

William Karlsson C | LV
Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Garners power-play assist
Karlsson posted a power-play assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers in Game 1.
Karlsson tipped a shot by Shea Theodore that then went in after another deflection from Mark Stone. Over seven playoff contests, Karlsson has three points, 11 shots on net, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The natural center is currently playing on the top line as a left wing. He seems to be adjusting well, and that role gives him a bit more scoring upside as long as he doesn't get shuffled back to middle-six duties.

Jack Eichel C | LV
Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Nabs assist in Game 1 loss
Eichel recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers in Game 1.
Eichel is on a four-game point streak with a goal and five assists in that span. He's bounced back well after opening the playoffs scoreless in three outings. The center has contributed a total of 21 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over seven playoff contests while centering the top line as usual.
