  • Wild's Vinnie Hinostroza: Scores in Monday's shootout loss

Hinostroza scored a goal on three shots in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Devils.

Hinostroza hadn't scored since March 4 in Seattle, but he closed out March with four points over seven contests. The 30-year-old winger has moved around the lineup a bit but most often settles into a middle-six role with time on the second power-play unit. Between Minnesota and Nashville this season, he has five goals, 10 points, 45 shots on net, 36 hits and a plus-2 rating across 34 appearances.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Keeps scoring Monday

Hischier scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 3-2 shootout win over the Wild.

Hischier finished March above a point-per-game pace, earning 10 goals and seven assists across 16 outings for the month. He scored four of those goals across the last two games. The 26-year-old is up to 34 tallies, 63 points, 183 shots, 59 blocked shots, 40 hits and a plus-12 rating through 70 appearances this season.

  • Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Out indefinitely

Kastelic (upper body) has no timeline to return to the lineup, Andrew Fantucchio of Boston Hockey Now reports Tuesday, effectively ruling him out indefinitely.

Kastelic has already missed four games due to his upper-body injury and now could be in danger of missing the rest of the 2024-25 campaign -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out at this time. Considering the forward has just one point in his last 16 contests, few fantasy players will be impacted by his extended absence.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Doubtful for Wednesday

Staal (lower body) is doubtful for Wednesday's matchup against Washington, according to Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.

Staal will probably miss his second straight outing as a precaution but could be available for Friday's contest against Detroit or Saturday's game versus Boston. The 36-year-old forward has 12 goals, 33 points, 99 shots on net, 42 blocked shots and 127 hits in 71 appearances this season. Tyson Jost will likely continue to see time in Carolina's bottom six until Staal is ready to return.

  • Josh Norris C | BUF

Sabres' Josh Norris: Still rehabbing injury

Norris (undisclosed) did not travel with the team and will not play Tuesday against the Senators, according to TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Norris will remain sidelined for a 10th consecutive game Tuesday as he works his way back to full strength. The left-shot center had cracked the scoresheet in back-to-back games prior to getting injured. Jiri Kulich and Ryan McLeod will continue to round out the center position in the top six while Norris is sidelined. Since a timeline for Norris to return to game action is not clear, fantasy managers shouldn't be counting on the 25-year-old for the fantasy playoffs.

  • Travis Konecny RW | PHI

Flyers' Travis Konecny: Two more helpers Monday

Konecny dished two assists in Monday's 2-1 win over the Predators.

All the game's scoring came in the second period, as Konecny had a hand in tallies by Ryan Poehling and Jamie Drysdale. Konecny has gotten onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games, producing two goals and eight points over that span, and he sits two points away from reaching 75 on the season for the first time in his career.

  • Max Sasson C | VAN

Canucks' Max Sasson: Dropped to AHL

Sasson was loaned to AHL Abbotsford on Monday.

Sasson has been a healthy scratch in Vancouver's last two games. He has two goals, four assists, 25 shots on net, 13 blocked shots and 14 hits in 24 NHL outings this season. Sasson could return to the big club for Wednesday's game against Seattle if Elias Pettersson (undisclosed), Nils Hoglander (undisclosed) and Filip Chytil (concussion) remain unavailable.

  • Tomas Hertl C | LV

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Won't play this week

Hertl (shoulder) won't be available this week, Ryan Wallis of Fox Sports Las Vegas reports Monday.

Hertl sustained a shoulder injury during the Golden Knights' win over the Lightning on March 23, and he's missed three games since then. He'll be forced to miss a few more matchups, and it's not yet clear when Vegas expects him to return.

  • Sam Steel C | DAL

Stars' Sam Steel: Dealing with undisclosed injury

Steel will be out of action against the Kraken on Monday due to an undisclosed injury, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.

Steel is mired in a 14-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 28 versus the Kings. During his slump, the 27-year-old forward chipped in just three assists to go with eight shots, nine hits and five blocked shots while averaging 12:54 of ice time. With Steel out of the lineup, Colin Blackwell will step back into the lineup in a fourth-line role.

  • Penguins' Emil Bemstrom: Lands on waivers

Bemstrom was designated for waivers by the Penguins on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Bemstrom's placement on waivers may be simply a technical move that will allow him to be moved to the minors when the Penguins' season is over -- especially considering the Baby Pens have clinched a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Still, if Bemstrom does get shifted down to the minors, it could be to make way for another young prospect to come up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for an audition late in the season.
