  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Headed to Steel City

Tomasino was traded to Pittsburgh from Nashville on Monday in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick.

At just 23 years of age, Tomasino certainly fits the bill as part of general manager Kyle Dubas' goal of getting younger. The 23-year-old natural center has played in 11 games for the Predators this season in which he generated one assist, 10 hits and 17 shots on goal while averaging 11:18 of ice time. With his new club, Tomasino should be in the mix for a bottom-six role, though he is far from a lock for the lineup on a nightly basis and could be a healthy scratch periodically.

  • Nico Sturm C | SJ

Sharks' Nico Sturm: Considered game-time decision

Sturm (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's matchup against Los Angeles, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Sturm has spent the last week on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury, but he'll be in the mix to return to action against the Kings. However, the Sharks want to see how he feels in the hours leading up to puck drop, and if he isn't cleared to return Monday, his next chance to suit up will be Wednesday against Ottawa.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Still not ready to play

Hyman (undisclosed) remains 5-8 days away from returning to the lineup, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Monday.

Based on Hyman's timeline, he figures to miss the Oilers' next two contests at a minimum. Considering the 32-year-old winger has already missed a pair of contests due to his undisclosed injury, he could be a candidate for injured reserve if the team decides it needs the extra roster spot. With Viktor Arvidsson (undisclosed) also sidelined, the Oilers will likely need to bring a forward up from AHL Bakersfield. Drake Caggiula was sent down Saturday, but that's likely for cap savings during a five-day gap between games for the Oilers.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Good to go

McTavish (upper body) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup versus Seattle on Monday, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Following his six-game absence, McTavish could occupy a bottom-six role and a spot on the power-play unit versus the Kraken. He had two goals and three helpers in five outings before getting hurt. McTavish has two tallies, eight points, 23 shots on net, eight blocked shots and nine hits through 13 appearances this season. His return could bump Jansen Harkins from the lineup.

  • Canadiens' Lucas Condotta: Sent down to minors

Condotta was reassigned to AHL Laval on Monday.

Condotta has logged seven games for the Canadiens this season recording one goal on five shots, 10 hits and three blocked shots while averaging 8:12 of ice time. The decision to move Condotta to the minors could be an indication the team is preparing to bring Rafael Harvey-Pinard (leg) back from his conditioning assignment with AHL Laval.

  • Noah Gregor C | OTT

    Senators' Noah Gregor: Remains out

Gregor (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Monday versus Calgary, according to Tim Baines of the Ottawa Sun.

Gregor will miss his fifth straight game, but he has been back practicing with the team recently and could be an option to return soon. He has produced two goals, one assist, 28 shots on net and 34 hits through 16 appearances this season. After being summoned from AHL Belleville on Sunday, Zack Ostapchuk will play versus the Flames instead of Gregor.

  • Wild's Marat Khusnutdinov: Officially game-time call

Khusnutdinov (lower body) is officially considered a game-time decision versus Winnipeg on Monday, though he didn't participate in line rushes at the morning skate, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.

The fact that Khusnutdinov didn't have a spot in Minnesota's line combinations at the morning skate should be a good indication that he won't be in action Monday even with head coach John Hynes calling him a game-time decision. Fantasy managers will have to wait for warmups for official confirmation regarding the forward's status, but probably they should prepare for Khusnutdinov to remain out of the lineup for a second consecutive game.

  • Filip Chytil C | NYR

Rangers' Filip Chytil: Won't play against St. Louis

Chytil (upper body) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Blues, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

Chytil participated in the Rangers' morning skate once again Monday, but he was with the extras and will be unavailable for a fifth consecutive game. His next chance to return will be Wednesday against Carolina.

  • Nick Paul C | TB

Lightning's Nick Paul: Won't play again in November

Paul (undisclosed) is expected to miss at least another week, ruling him out for the Lightning's next four games, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports Monday.

It's a tough week for Paul to be sidelined with an injury considering Tampa Bay has four games this week, all of which the winger will miss, before playing just twice the following week. After a blazing start to the season saw the Ontario native rack up 11 points in the first 12 games, he was limited to just two points in the five contests before he got hurt. Without Paul in the lineup, the team has been utilizing seven defensemen and could continue to do so over the next four games.

  • Tyson Jost C | CAR

Hurricanes' Tyson Jost: Shipped down to minors

Jost was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Monday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Jost's demotion comes as the Hurricanes activated Seth Jarvis (upper body) off injured reserve ahead of Monday's game versus the Stars. In seven NHL outings this season, the 26-year-old Jost has generated one goal on eight shots, seven hits and one blocked shot while averaging 9:20 of ice time. Given his struggles offensively to start the year, Jost could find himself toiling away in the minors for a while.
