Craig Smith C | DET
Blackhawks' Craig Smith: Pots goal Wednesday
Smith scored a goal and added four hits in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Smith has found a little bit of a groove with three goals and two assists over his last eight games. While he remains on the fourth line, he's also seen some power-play time during this stretch, which follows his return from a back injury Feb. 5. The 35-year-old is at 16 points, 74 shots on net, 30 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 40 appearances. Smith is on an affordable $1 million contract this season, and while Ryan Donato is the biggest trade target in Chicago, Smith is a veteran depth forward who could also be on the move before Friday's deadline.

Cameron Hebig C | UTA
Hockey Club's Cameron Hebig: Pens two-way deal
Hebig signed a one-year, two-way contract with Utah on Thursday.
Hebig has been playing for Utah's AHL affiliate Tucson this season on a minor-league only deal. In 48 games for the Roadrunners, the 28-year-old center has notched 20 goals and 17 helpers. With this NHL deal in place, it's possible Hebig makes his NHL debut this season, though it likely won't be a full-time gig.

Teuvo Teravainen C | CHI
Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen: Nets power-play goal Wednesday
Teravainen scored a power-play goal, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Teravainen is riding a six-game point streak (three goals, six assists). The winger has earned three of those nine points on the power play. For the season, the 30-year-old is up to 15 goals, 49 points (20 on the power play), 93 shots on net and a minus-14 rating over 62 outings in a top-six role.

Nico Sturm C | MIN
Panthers' Nico Sturm: Sent to Florida
The Panthers acquired Sturm and a seventh-round pick in 2027 from San Jose on Thursday in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Sturm will provide the Panthers with some depth up front as they currently have only 12 healthy forwards. Sturm had seven goals and six assists in 47 games with the Sharks this season, including two goals in his last four appearances.

Ryan Donato C | CHI
Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Stays hot with goal
Donato scored a goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Donato's point streak is up to six games (four goals, five assists) following his first-period tally Wednesday. The 28-year-old is up to 23 goals, 46 points, 136 shots on net, 94 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 60 appearances. Fantasy managers may still want to wait through at least Friday's trade deadline to see if Donato gets dealt or not -- it's unlikely he'll be able to replicate his current scoring pace if he's stuck in a smaller role on a contender. If he stays put, he'll look to extend his streak versus Utah on Friday.

Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Could return next week
Per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, Dickinson (ankle) may return to action as early as next week, according to coach Anders Sorensen.

Ethen Frank C | WAS
Capitals' Ethen Frank: Picks up helper Wednesday

Frank has managed seven points, 19 shots on net, 10 hits, 11 blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-6 rating over 21 appearances this season. Rasmus Kupari C | WPG
Jets' Rasmus Kupari: In concussion protocol
Kupari entered the NHL's concussion protocol following his injury against the Islanders on Tuesday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

In his 58 appearances this season, the 24-year-old center recorded five goals, three assists and 52 shots in 58 outings. Without Kupari in the lineup, David Gustafsson figures to get back into action after being a healthy scratch the previous two games.
